In the women's 57kg Taekwondo final at the 2025 SEA Games on December 13th, Vietnamese martial artist Tran Thi Anh Tuyet faced her opponent from host country Thailand.

Despite the immense pressure from the stands, Anh Tuyet maintained a rare composure, competing with skill and confidence, thus showcasing the steely spirit of a Vietnamese martial artist.

With her proactive, confident, and effective playing style, she quickly took control of the match, creating a clear advantage and soon closing out the first set with a convincing 7-2 victory.

In the second round, Anh Tuyet showed some impatience. However, her opponent, the home fighter, displayed composure and experience, taking advantage of her weaknesses to score crucial points in quick succession. The drama intensified when the two fighters ended the round tied at 13-13, and surprisingly, the Thai athlete won due to a better tiebreaker.

In the dugout, coach Kim Kil Tae constantly gave timely instructions, continuously encouraging and reminding his student to maintain the necessary composure, thereby helping Anh Tuyet stabilize her mentality and be ready for the crucial moments of the important match.

Entering the decisive third round, Anh Tuyet demonstrated complete superiority by proactively imposing her game plan and launching a series of precise attacks.

Despite their best efforts to score points and turn the tide, their opponents were unable to withstand the pressure and superior playing style of Anh Tuyet, accepting a swift defeat with a score of 3-8.

As soon as the match ended, she quickly headed towards the coaching area, embracing Coach Kim Kil Tae in overwhelming joy, as if releasing all the pressure and effort that had been building up throughout the final match.

The Vietnamese flag flies proudly in the arena, a flag of victory and glory marking a well-deserved gold medal, the culmination of the courage, willpower, and tireless efforts of Vietnamese Taekwondo.
In an interview after winning the gold medal, Anh Tuyen said: "I am very happy and proud of this gold medal. I was also a little worried because I had to compete against the home team's fighter, as in the previous matches the Vietnamese team had problems with the referees, but in the end I managed to do it."

"I've been practicing taekwondo for 11 years, been on the national team for 9 years, participated in 4 SEA Games, and this is my 3rd gold medal. I would like to dedicate this gold medal to my family, coaching staff, teammates, and everyone who has helped me," Anh Tuyet shared.

The fans in the stands cheered and enthusiastically supported the team throughout the match, and their efforts were finally rewarded with a well-deserved victory as they witnessed Tran Thi Anh Tuyet's proud moment of triumph.
