Techfest Vietnam 2025, themed “National Innovation Entrepreneurship - A New Driving Force for Growth,” will take place from December 12th to 24th, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Hanoi People's Committee.

This year marks Techfest's first year transitioning from a traditional auditorium format to an open space, incorporating technology demonstration and experience zones and community interaction activities.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc; Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Huynh Thanh Dat; along with leaders of central ministries and agencies, localities, international organizations, embassies, technology corporations, investment funds and the domestic and international startup community.

In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: "Vietnam's aspiration for innovation should not be just a slogan, but must stem from the dictates of the heart, the thinking of the mind, and substantive actions, becoming a driving force for development."

According to the Prime Minister, businesses need to strengthen human resource training from secondary to postgraduate levels, while developing open laboratories and enhancing close cooperation between the State, training institutions, and businesses to quickly bring research results into practical application.

At the same time, the Prime Minister emphasized the role of the younger generation in continuing to nurture aspirations, daring to think, daring to act, boldly experimenting and venturing out, thereby creating pioneering "Made in Vietnam" technologies, becoming a new growth engine, contributing to the country's rapid and sustainable development.

Techfest Vietnam 2025 is expected to become a milestone marking the beginning of the National Strategy on Innovative Entrepreneurship, clearly demonstrating the spirit of promoting nationwide innovative entrepreneurship, leveraging the power of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation to create breakthrough development momentum, in line with the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

This year's Techfest is also positioned as a space connecting policy, technology, market, and investment, contributing to making innovative entrepreneurship a widespread movement in society.

This model aims to bring scientific, technological, and innovative achievements closer to the people, rather than limiting them to the confines of specialized auditoriums.

At the opening ceremony, many exemplary localities in promoting the startup ecosystem were honored, recognizing the increasingly important role of local governments in improving institutions, building infrastructure, and supporting startup businesses.

Many of Vietnam's major cities have made it into the top 1,000 global startup cities, with Hanoi ranking 148th, Ho Chi Minh City 110th, and Da Nang 766th.

Techfest Vietnam 2025 is considered the largest Techfest ever, expected to attract over 60,000 attendees in person and online, with the participation of more than 20 corporations, investment funds, support organizations, incubators, training institutions... along with delegates and scientists from 6 international regions including Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, North America and Europe.

Besides the opening ceremony, the event also includes a series of workshops, seminars, national policy forums, exhibition spaces and technology experiences, and the finals of innovative startup talent competitions, contributing to affirming Techfest's role as a national forum connecting ideas, resources, and knowledge for Vietnam's startup ecosystem.
