On the morning of December 13th, Mong Tuyen won another silver medal in the women's 10m air rifle team event and a bronze medal in the women's 10m air rifle individual event. This achievement helped the girl born in 2003 win all three colors of medals at this year's Games.
Yesterday (December 12), the shooter from Ho Chi Minh City also excellently won the gold medal in the 10m air rifle mixed event with teammate Nguyen Tam Quang.
However, winning the bronze medal in her specialty event, the 10m air pistol, left Mong Tuyen extremely disappointed. In particular, the Vietnamese shooter had several moments leading her two Indonesian opponents but was ultimately left behind.

Sharing her thoughts after the shooting round, Mong Tuyen couldn't hide her regret. She admitted that her competitive mindset had been greatly affected when her teammate, Phi Thanh Thao, finished in 5th place.
"When Thao and I were in first and second place, I felt very relaxed because I thought having a teammate by my side meant there was no need to worry. But when I saw her score drop and she walked off the stage, I felt a little heavy-hearted. A few fleeting thoughts also made me lose focus," Mong Tuyen shared, her voice choked with emotion.

The electronic scoreboard showed that in the decisive rounds of shooting when facing the two Indonesian shooters directly, Mong Tuyen had shots scoring below 10 points.
Explaining this, the female shooter born in 2003 said she made a mistake by letting her mind be distracted by the pressure of achieving results instead of focusing on technique: "I performed quite well in the previous rounds, but in the last few rounds I started thinking about the score, not focusing on technique and the shooting exercise, which led to an unsatisfactory result."

Although she couldn't quite get her hands on the prestigious individual gold medal as hoped, her complete medal collection (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze) at the SEA Games 33 is still a remarkable achievement for the young woman from Ho Chi Minh City.
