Many special activities at the 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival, 2025

It is expected that from November 21-23, 2025, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Dong Mo, Doai Phuong, Hanoi), the 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 will take place. The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) with the meaningful theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group in the new era".

The 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 is held to honor and introduce the traditional cultural values ​​of the Muong ethnic group to domestic and international friends. Strengthening the promotion of the image of a Vietnam rich in cultural identity, unity and harmony among ethnic groups. Demonstrating the attention of the Party and State to the work of preserving and promoting the cultural values ​​of the Muong ethnic group in the process of innovation, integration and development.

Raising awareness and sense of responsibility in building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development in order to concretize the implementation of tasks according to Conclusion No. 156-KT/TW dated May 21, 2025 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014 of the 11th Party Central Committee on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development and Conclusion No. 76-KL/TW dated June 4, 2020 of the 12th Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW, Directive No. 06/2004/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on continuing to promote socio-economic development, ensuring security and order for the Muong ethnic group in the new situation and the National Cultural Conference in 2021 has proposed, contributing to strengthening strengthen national position in the international arena.

At the same time, this is an opportunity to introduce and widely promote to businesses, tourists, domestic and international friends the potential and strengths of developing culture, sports, tourism and the unique cultural heritage values ​​of the Muong ethnic group in the period of innovation, integration and national development. The festival contributes to attracting investment resources for tourism development, creating a driving force to promote, advertise and link regions, speeding up the process of forming and developing key tourist areas and destinations in localities with a large Muong population.

The festival is expected to have the participation of many artisans, actors, and athletes from typical provinces and cities with Muong communities such as: Hanoi , Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Son La, and Thanh Hoa.

The opening ceremony of the 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival will take place simultaneously with the Opening Ceremony of the "Week of Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage". This event promises to attract great public attention, scheduled to take place at 8:00 p.m. on November 21 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism .

Within the framework of the Festival, it is expected that there will be many diverse cultural, sports and tourism activities such as: Mass art festival, traditional costume performance, gong performance, Muong ethnic handicraft weaving demonstration; Performance and introduction of Muong ethnic cultural rituals, simulating the characteristics of folk beliefs and culture, promoting positive factors and eliminating negative and backward factors; Scientific seminar: "Preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development"; Photo exhibition "Muong ethnic people accompanying the development of the country"; exhibition "Cultural characteristics of Muong ethnic group in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups"; Attractive competitions such as traditional wrestling, throwing con, crossbow shooting, tug of war, raft fighting, stick pushing...

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires the Festival to be organized solemnly, practically, effectively, economically, without wasteful ostentation, while creating a joyful, exciting, and safe atmosphere associated with the country's political and cultural events.

The activities within the framework of the Festival must clearly demonstrate the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group, promote the mass character, be rich in types, creative, diverse, and unique in content. Ensure unity, science, and flexibility in the direction between the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the People's Committees of the provinces and cities participating in the Festival.

In particular, the programs participating in the Festival must be carefully prepared, well-rehearsed, have typical, appropriate and highly artistic content, meeting the creative and enjoyment needs of the people; community activities, promoting the role of cultural subjects, promoting traditional cultural values ​​associated with the progressive factors of the times. At the same time, it has practical significance in orienting the work of preserving Muong ethnic culture associated with tourism development, thereby improving the material and spiritual life of the Muong ethnic community in the current context.
