Reviewing preparations for the Red River Festival and supporting activities

On the afternoon of October 27, Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the Red River Festival 2025 and supporting activities within the framework of the event. Attending were leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province reported on the progress of implementing the key contents of the Red River Festival in 2025. According to the plan, the Festival Opening Ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on November 19, 2025, broadcast live on Vietnam Television, promising to bring a unique art program rich in the identity of the Red River region.

Before and during the event, a series of exciting and attractive cultural and tourism activities will be organized, such as: space for experiencing ethnic culture, displaying culture and tourism of provinces and cities in the Red River basin, performing folk cultural rituals and performing ethnic arts of Lao Cai at Dinh Le Square from November 18 to 24, 2025. At the same time, there will also be a fair "Re-enacting the ancient Coc Leu market" and a sports exchange program for businessmen and youth of Lao Cai province, creating a vibrant atmosphere and connecting the community.

In addition, the 2025 Lao Cai Shan Tuyet Tea Festival will take place on November 21-22, 2025, the 2025 Red River Golf Festival will be held on November 22, 2025, and the series of events will be concluded with the "One track - two countries" International Cycling Race Hong Ha (China) - Lao Cai (Vietnam), taking place from November 28 to 30, 2025.

The entire program promises to bring a large-scale, unique festival, honoring the culture of the Red River region, while contributing to promoting the image of a dynamic, integrated and richly-identified Lao Cai to domestic and international tourists.

At the meeting, delegates from departments, branches and sectors focused on discussing and agreeing on detailed plans for organizing activities; propaganda plans; ensuring security and order, environmental sanitation, urban beautification and reception of domestic and international delegates.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Vu Thi Hien Hanh emphasized the need for relevant agencies and units to urgently review and complete the organization plan, ensuring the progress, quality and professionalism of the Red River Festival in 2025.

He suggested promoting propaganda work before, during and after the event in many creative and flexible forms on digital platforms such as TikTok, Zalo, Fanpage, combining the creation of clips, trailers, and vivid media graphics, to strongly spread the image of the Festival, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to Lao Cai.

He assigned the Department of Foreign Affairs to coordinate in organizing a thoughtful reception for nearly 500 delegates and guests from home and abroad; the Provincial Police and the Provincial Military Command to ensure absolute security and safety during the event. At the same time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism urgently completed the opening ceremony script, selected a reputable organizing unit, carefully prepared the stage, lighting, sound and arranged the seats for delegates.

The Red River Festival 2025 is expected to be a large-scale cultural and tourism event, creating a strong impression in promoting the cultural identity of the provinces in the Red River basin, honoring the beauty of Lao Cai land and people, while enhancing the tourism attractiveness and position of the Northwest region on the Vietnam tourism map.
