Lao Cai General Hospital No. 2 and Lai Chau General Hospital signed a medical cooperation agreement

On October 27, at Lai Chau Provincial General Hospital, Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital No. 2 and Lai Chau Provincial General Hospital signed a medical cooperation agreement.

According to the signed content, Lao Cai General Hospital No. 2 and Lai Chau General Hospital agreed to cooperate in 04 key areas. In particular, in professional training and human resources, the two sides will coordinate to organize training activities, training, and professional and technical training for medical staff and civil servants. Training programs are flexibly implemented in many forms, such as: sending staff to attend courses, seminars, training, and exchanging professional experiences.

In the field of professional cooperation and technology transfer, the two hospitals will increase exchanges and sharing of professional experience, technical processes, treatment protocols, and guidance on diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases, especially in specialties with strengths or development needs of each side. Depending on actual conditions, the two units will coordinate to organize consultations on difficult cases, support surgeries, procedures, short-term training or invite experts to directly guide on-site.

Regarding cooperation in scientific research and innovation, the two hospitals will jointly propose, develop and implement research topics and projects in the fields of medicine, nursing, quality management, clinical pharmacy, medical information technology and many other related fields.

In the content of quality management, patient safety and hospital improvement, the two hospitals will share experiences, models, quality management tools, solutions to improve patient safety, risk management, 5S practices, building a quality culture and promoting social work in hospitals.

According to the agreement, the cooperation period between the two hospitals is 5 years, starting from October 27, 2025 to October 27, 2030. The signing of the cooperation agreement between the two units not only marks a new step forward in the medical cooperation relationship between Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces, but also contributes to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, developing medical human resources and promoting the sustainable development of the health system in the Northwest region.

To mark the cooperation, the medical teams of the two hospitals coordinated to successfully perform surgery on patient Cao Thi Chi, 92 years old, residing in Tan Uyen district, Lai Chau province, with a fracture of the right femur. This is a complicated case due to the patient's old age and many underlying diseases, requiring close coordination in terms of expertise, technique and post-operative care. Under the smooth coordination between the doctors, the surgery was safe and successful. Currently, the patient's health is stable and is being monitored and cared for post-operatively.

Previously, in August 2023, the Department of Health of Lao Cai province (old) and the Department of Health of Lai Chau province signed a memorandum of cooperation in the health sector. This included the content of caring for and creating conditions for affiliated units to establish friendship, cooperate, transfer technology, and regularly support each other in medical examination and treatment.
