The project was implemented along the Xeo Cui canal, in areas 3 and 4 of Cai Rang ward, which were polluted by waste and water hyacinth, affecting the water flow and urban aesthetics. Deployed from September 10th to October 20th, 2025, with over 1,580 man-days of labor from youth union members and local residents, the project collected more than 30 tons of waste. The cost, approximately 286 million VND, was funded by local residents, businesses, and philanthropists.
The project, covering an area of approximately 1,000m², includes paving sidewalks, installing public exercise equipment and lighting, clearing weeds, and planting flowers and trees. This creates a new, clean, and attractive appearance in the areas, spreading the spirit of green living and green action, aiming to create a positive change in environmental protection awareness, preventing littering, contributing to building a civilized urban environment, and promoting the anti-plastic waste movement in the area. It also demonstrates the proactive, voluntary, and socially responsible spirit of the youth from both units in working together with the local government to build a green and sustainable living environment.
To ensure the long-term effectiveness of the project, the Cai Rang Ward Youth Union established a Volunteer Environmental Protection Team consisting of police officers and Cai Rang Ward Youth Union members. They coordinate in carrying out sanitation work, caring for trees, and raising awareness among the people about environmental protection.
