According to the coaching staff of VTV Binh Dien Long An Club, the team secured a spot in the 2025 Women's Volleyball Club World Championship thanks to their runner-up position in the 2025 AVC Champions League.

However, the team's withdrawal from the tournament was due to the FIVB's schedule clashing with the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33) in Thailand – where the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was aiming for a historic gold medal. Most of VTV Binh Dien Long An's key players were also important members of the national team, making it impossible for the team to field its strongest lineup for the world competition.

The VTV Binh Dien Long An club management announced that head coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa and five key players, including Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Le Nhu Anh, Dang Thi Kim Thanh, and Nguyen Khanh Dang, are all included in the national team roster. The team considers serving the national flag as its top priority.

In addition, star player Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, currently playing in Japan, is also expected to return to join the Vietnamese national team in December. With almost the entire starting lineup missing, participating in the world championship is impossible for the Vietnamese volleyball team.

Previously, VTV Binh Dien Long An secured a spot in the 2025 Club World Championship thanks to their runner-up position in the 2025 AVC Champions League – a historic achievement for the team from the Mekong Delta. Therefore, the decision to withdraw is considered regrettable, but it also reflects a clear priority for national duty in the context of Vietnamese volleyball aiming for a major milestone at the 33rd SEA Games.

VTV Binh Dien Long An's withdrawal from the world tournament means that Vietnamese volleyball will not have a representative at this year's most prestigious club-level competition. However, VTV Binh Dien Long An's decision has received much sympathy from fans, as it is a decision made for the sake of national pride, demonstrating a spirit of sacrificing personal interests for the common goal of national sports.
