After days of waiting, fans will witness the first performance of the Vietnamese volleyball team. Laos will be the first opponent that coach Tran Dinh Tien's team will face in their journey to conquer the SEA Games 33 gold medal.
According to the draw results, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team is in Group A along with host Thailand, Singapore, and Laos. Therefore, a victory in the opening match will be a stepping stone for the Vietnamese players to confidently face tougher opponents in the remaining matches of Group A.
Overall, this is a relatively easy group for Coach Tran Dinh Tien's team. Laos and Singapore are not highly rated teams and are unlikely to compete for a place in the next round. Therefore, the top two positions are almost certainly in the hands of Thailand and Vietnam.
The men's volleyball match between Vietnam and Laos will be broadcast live on VTV, HTV,FPT Play, and apps such as MyTV and VTVgo.
On the other hand, the other two opponents in Group A, Singapore and the host team Thailand, will also face each other at 5:30 PM on the same day. Meanwhile, the Myanmar men's volleyball team will take on the Philippines at 12:30 PM.
The men's volleyball tournament at the 33rd SEA Games features 7 teams. Group A includes Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Singapore. Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Philippines are in Group B. In the group stage, teams play a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
