TPO - On December 12th, at the Presidential Palace, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with and commended the delegation of students who won prizes at the 2025 International Olympiads in Science and Technology. At the ceremony, 19 students were honored with the Labor Medal and 5 students received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister.
Director of the Quality Management Department, Huynh Van Chuong, reported at the meeting: In 2025, Vietnam will have 7 delegations with 37 students participating in international and regional Olympic competitions. The results were impressive, with all contestants winning awards, including: 13 Gold Medals, 16 Silver Medals, and 8 Bronze Medals (an increase of 1 Gold Medal and 1 Silver Medal compared to 2024).
The Ministry of Education and Training selected and formed the national team to participate in the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad, achieving outstanding results with all 8 participating students winning awards, including: 3 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal, 3 Bronze Medals, and 1 Certificate of Merit, placing Vietnam 4th out of 60 participating countries.
Notably, 2025 marks the first time the Vietnamese delegation has achieved the highest results at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in the United States, with 2 second prizes, 1 third prize, 3 fourth prizes, and 4 special awards from sponsors. This is the highest achievement since Vietnam began participating in ISEF in 2013.

According to the Director of the Quality Management Department, the Ministry of Education and Training will continue to innovate education in a comprehensive direction, focusing on identifying and nurturing talent; and at the same time, build mechanisms to attract and support students to develop their abilities to the fullest and contribute to the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan acknowledged and praised the achievements of the education sector, teachers, and students, while affirming that Vietnamese education is making strong progress and gradually approaching advanced world standards.
The Vice President urged the younger generation of Vietnam, including the outstanding students who were honored, to continue nurturing the spirit of learning, creativity, daring to think, daring to act, and daring to take responsibility, becoming useful citizens for society and making many contributions to the country.
The education sector needs to continue developing and implementing practical plans and solutions with clear roadmaps to identify, nurture, and develop talent in line with the country's development needs and the trends of the times.
Regarding the teaching staff, the Vice President expressed his hope that teachers would continue to "keep the flame alive," inspire students to learn and research; and innovate teaching methods to train citizens with the qualities and abilities to meet new requirements.
On behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Training, Deputy Minister Le Quan expressed his deep gratitude to the Vice President for the great attention and encouragement given to the education sector. The Deputy Minister affirmed that the Vice President's directives are both a source of encouragement and an important orientation for the Ministry of Education and Training to continue developing educational programs and training talents to serve the cause of national construction and defense.
