Thanking Vietnam for its warm and thoughtful welcome to the working delegation of the Central Propaganda Department of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Ms. Vilavone Phanthavong said that, along with the good friendship between the two countries, Vietnam and Laos have had close and close coordination in the fields of information and journalism in recent times.
During this working trip, the Lao delegation exchanged and learned many valuable experiences from management agencies and press and media agencies of Vietnam, especially in management, human resource training, digital transformation and application of artificial intelligence (AI) in press activities.

Ms. Vilavone Phanthavong said that Laos is currently restructuring its administrative apparatus, including many changes in the fields of press and information.
Emphasizing the important role of the press and media in propagating the Party and State's policies and guidelines, as well as guiding public opinion and foreign information, Ms. Vilavone Phanthavong expressed her wish to continue receiving cooperation and support from Vietnam in the coming time, in order to contribute to improving the quality and effectiveness of press and media work in Laos.

At the working session, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh affirmed that the recent arrangements and adjustments of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, including in the field of information and press, have shown deep and correct concern for the role of press and media in the current period.
According to the Deputy Minister, the scientific and technological revolution is taking place strongly on a global scale, creating profound changes in the field of information and communication. The explosion of social networks helps information spread faster than ever before, while posing many challenges to the management and orientation of public opinion.
In Vietnam today, people mainly receive information from three sources: mainstream press, grassroots information systems and social networks. In which, the press and grassroots information systems play an orientation role, while social networks are an open space - both beneficial and potentially risky, especially the problem of fake news.
The Deputy Minister said that in Vietnam, along with the press, grassroots information work is focused on strengthening. In addition to traditional information methods, along with the development of science and technology, Vietnam has applied many modern communication methods to propagate to each citizen.

Affirming the important role of the press and media, Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh emphasized that information and propaganda work must always be strengthened and innovated to help people correctly understand, trust and agree with the Party's guidelines and the State's policies. The press needs to contribute to helping people better understand the core values that the country is preserving and promoting - that is, peace , stability, development and national unity.
Practice shows that, at any stage, information and propaganda work always plays a key role; in the context of a volatile world, this task needs to be given even more importance in order to consolidate trust and enhance solidarity within the Party and among the people.
