Ca Mau strengthens the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights.

Pursuant to Directive No. 13/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2025 of the Prime Minister and Official Dispatch No. 148-CV/TU dated August 5, 2025 of the Standing Committee of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee on strengthening the fight against, preventing and repelling smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province issued Plan No. 0118/KH-UBND to strengthen the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights in Ca Mau province.

Accordingly, the objective of the Plan is to focus on combating, preventing, repelling, and eventually ending smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and goods infringing intellectual property rights; at the same time, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, avoiding overlap, omission of tasks, or gaps in market control work.

Accordingly, the Plan has set out the following key tasks:

- Strengthen the fight to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the province, especially essential and key goods that have received public opinion in recent times such as milk, modern medicine, functional foods, cosmetics, gasoline, tobacco, sugar, fertilizers, etc.

- Strengthen inspection and supervision of activities on e-commerce trading floors and social networks.

-Do a good job of receiving, handling denunciations, reports and recommendations for prosecution of smuggling crimes; strengthen inter-sectoral inspection and examination, not allowing hot spots and prominent cases to arise.

- Strengthen inspection, supervision, and management of cadres, civil servants, and soldiers in terms of awareness and implementation of the fight, prevention, and suppression of degradation in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle, and building a clean and strong internal force. Strictly handle violations and violations of the law in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property rights infringement according to regulations.

- Strengthen propaganda and mobilize people and businesses to sign a commitment not to trade in counterfeit, smuggled, or poor-quality goods;

The plan also assigns specific tasks to each department, branch, locality and related units to implement inspection and control according to their management areas. In particular, the Department of Industry and Trade is assigned to advise the Head of Steering Committee 389 to direct, inspect and urge members of Steering Committee 389 to implement the requirements, contents and solutions of this Plan; coordinate with members of Steering Committee 389 to synthesize and report on implementation results.
