Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long awarded the Labor Medal to collectives and individuals in the health sector with outstanding achievements.
On the morning of October 26, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Health organized the 8th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the health sector (2025-2030).
Attending the congress were Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long; leaders of a number of ministries and branches, along with nearly 500 delegates from medical units and organizations nationwide and nearly 100 typical advanced collectives and individuals in the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2020-2025.
This is also an opportunity for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the entire industry to review the glorious tradition, arouse professional pride, solidarity and creativity, continue to promote the patriotic emulation movement, and achieve many practical achievements to welcome the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress and the 14th National Congress of the Party.

According to Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, the 2020-2025 period is one of the most challenging periods for the Vietnamese health sector as it faces the Covid-19 pandemic, natural disasters, climate change and many global health issues. In these difficulties, the Vietnamese medical team has demonstrated the spirit of "a good doctor must be like a mother", bravery, dedication and fortitude to overcome all hardships, together with the whole country to successfully control the pandemic, protect the lives and health of the people.
The patriotic emulation movements have truly encouraged and attracted a large number of cadres, civil servants and public employees in the health sector to participate, creating a vibrant and widespread competitive atmosphere in the sector nationwide. Many collectives and individuals have been recognized, commended and rewarded by the Party, the State and the Ministry of Health.
The patriotic emulation movement of the health sector in recent times has truly become a strong driving force for each individual and unit to constantly strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges, with dedicated, persistent and creative labor, achieving great achievements, profoundly changing from ideological awareness to organizational structure and operating methods; from expertise, science and technology to improving medical ethics; building a highly humane relationship between doctors and patients, contributing to completing and exceeding the goals in the strategy to protect, care for and improve people's health in the period 2020-2025.
“Through the movements, tens of thousands of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the health sector have strived to overcome difficulties, promote initiatives, improve professional quality, improve management, and serve the people better and better. Many collectives and individuals have achieved outstanding results, contributing to the comprehensive completion of the sector's political tasks in the recent period,” affirmed Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan.

Speaking at the Congress, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long affirmed that in recent years, implementing Uncle Ho's call for patriotic emulation, patriotic emulation movements nationwide, in all sectors and fields have been launched, responded to, implemented effectively, spread strongly, strengthened the spirit of great national unity, contributed significantly to helping the whole country overcome difficulties and challenges, achieved great achievements in socio-economic development, and continuously improved the material and spiritual life of the people.
For the health sector, in the period of 2020-2025, responding to the special emulation movement: "The whole country unites, joins hands, and competes to prevent, fight and defeat the Covid-19 pandemic" , the whole sector has united, united, not afraid of hardships and dangers, playing the role of a frontline force against the epidemic, of the "White Shirt Warriors", making an important contribution to our country's good control of the epidemic, recovery and socio-economic development.
The health sector has thoroughly grasped and effectively implemented the Party and State's guidelines, policies, and laws on health; notably, advising and submitting to the Politburo to issue Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW with many additional and enhanced policies, along with specific tasks and solutions, creating a foundation for breakthroughs in the development of the sector. The work of building and perfecting institutions and policies has been promoted, contributing to gradually unlocking resources, innovating ways of thinking and working; at the same time, solving many remaining problems, long-standing cases, and public concerns.
Preventive medicine capacity, primary health care, and the quality of medical examination and treatment have been improved; the application of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation have been promoted; traditional medicine has continued to develop; population work has been focused on, taking advantage of the golden population period and preparing for the population aging period.
In particular, the emulation and reward work has many innovations; many emulation movements have been strongly implemented with rich and diverse forms and achieved many results. The health sector has also actively responded to emulation movements launched by the Government...

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the new development stage has many favorable opportunities but also poses many difficulties, thus requiring the health sector to strongly promote traditions and achievements; continue to be united, proactive, courageous, and innovate more strongly; overcome limitations and shortcomings; turn emulation movements into a driving force for innovation, creativity, and dedication; so that each emulation movement becomes a specific, practical action, associated with the tasks of each agency, unit, and locality; strive to excellently fulfill the mission of protecting, caring for, and improving people's health.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long also noted some specific contents. Accordingly, the whole industry should further promote the spirit of solidarity and responsibility in sharing work; the more difficult it is, the more we need to join hands and be unanimous; build a modern, fair, and effective health system to meet the increasingly high and diverse health care needs of the people.
Thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party and State's guidelines, policies and laws, especially Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on a number of breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care and improvement of people's health and the Government's Action Program to implement this Resolution. Implement professional tasks in a comprehensive and methodical manner but with a focus and key points with appropriate priority roadmap; integrate the implementation of specific tasks with emulation movements; in which, in addition to continuing to perform regular tasks well, it is necessary to identify important, urgent tasks that need to be done immediately; at the same time, have effective solutions to deal with arising problems. Strengthen discipline and order in performing public duties; focus on thoroughly overcoming limitations and shortcomings, and not allowing violations to occur in the implementation of tasks.
Pay more attention to improving medical ethics. Every cadre, civil servant, public employee, doctor, and medical staff must always maintain and promote the quality of " A good doctor must be like a mother " ; in addition to constantly improving professional qualifications, they must also better fulfill their responsibilities; respect and protect the lives and health of patients; treat patients fairly, respect the rights and dignity of patients; be honest and objective in performing their work.
In addition, promote digital transformation in healthcare management; deploy electronic medical records, synchronize health data between hospitals and medical facilities. Increase the application of artificial intelligence, big data, invest in developing software to support doctors in the examination, treatment and care of patients.
The entire industry needs to comprehensively innovate the emulation and reward movement in a practical and effective manner, linked to political and professional tasks. Rewards need to be public, transparent, timely, focusing on those who work directly, cadres who are close to the grassroots, remote areas, and especially difficult areas; promote propaganda, replicate advanced models, and spread the spirit of patriotic emulation throughout society.
