In tune with the depth of Cham culture
On this occasion, at Quang Nam Museum, there was a parallel exhibition of the theme "Cham Culture of Ninh Thuan - Quang Nam" jointly organized by the Center for Ethnic Culture Research and Ninh Thuan Provincial Museum and the Management Board of Quang Nam Monuments and Museum.
This activity aims to introduce to the public the unique cultural values of the Cham community, especially the Cham culture of Ninh Thuan and Quang Nam; serving the work of education, research and tourism development. Aiming to propagate and educate the younger generation to be aware of preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Cham people in contemporary life.
At the same time, it strengthens community solidarity, regional cultural exchange and creates opportunities for people and tourists to better understand the richness and diversity of Vietnamese culture.
Nearly 200 typical images, documents and artifacts on display vividly and authentically introduce the colors of Cham culture: from daily life to religious beliefs, from architectural techniques to decorative arts, from traditional musical instruments to ritual customs.
Viewers were able to admire and learn about images and artifacts typical of the lifestyle, residential forms, traditional costumes, jewelry, customs, production tools, typical musical instruments, religious beliefs and festivals of the Cham people living in Ninh Thuan province; images of archaeological excavation activities at Cham relics, temple and tower architecture, etc.
In particular, artifacts including statues, decorative reliefs, roof tiles, bricks, and household utensils were discovered during excavations from Cham relics in Quang Nam and Ninh Thuan provinces.
Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Hanh - Director of Quang Nam Monuments and Museum Management Board shared: Despite the geographical distance, Ninh Thuan and Quang Nam have a strong cultural connection, especially in the long-lasting and unique flow of Cham culture.
Cham culture is an important component of Vietnam's cultural heritage. Over thousands of years, the Cham people have left behind many valuable tangible and intangible cultural values, expressed in temple architecture, statues, reliefs, music, dances, religious beliefs and community life.
Through this thematic exhibition, we hope that viewers will not only admire the artifacts but also feel the spirit, depth and breath of Cham culture in the flow of national culture - a culture that once flourished and was full of identity, thereby raising awareness, appreciation and the spirit of preserving heritage for today's and future generations. Thereby aiming to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the nation, especially Cham cultural heritage.
“Cultural heritage is only truly alive and meaningful when it is connected to the community. These two thematic exhibitions are an effort to bring heritage out of storage, bringing artifacts closer to the public, through stories, images and vivid, easy-to-understand approaches,” Ms. Hanh shared.
These two thematic exhibitions are cultural activities organized within the framework of "Quang Nam Culture, Sports and Tourism Days 2025", thereby contributing to honoring traditional values, promoting the image of a friendly and rich Quang Nam to the people and tourists.
