Ms. Nguyen Thi Bach Hue - Director of the Provincial Museum said that within the framework of dramatizing ancient Southern wedding rituals, the main activities are recreated vividly and closely to students such as: Nap Thai, Van Danh, Nap Cat, Thinh Ky, Than Nghinh. "Each staged ritual helps students supplement their knowledge of customs and rituals, develop their ability to observe, comment, associate and reason. Besides supplementing knowledge of history, literature or fine arts, dramatization also arouses a love of culture, awareness of heritage preservation and the ability to work in groups, participate in practical experience activities...", Ms. Hue said.
Le My Ky - a 12th grade literature student at Huynh Man Dat High School for the Gifted, Rach Gia Ward, confided: "I was lucky to have the opportunity to participate in the performance of the Southern wedding rituals at school. When standing on stage, playing the roles of the characters, I not only saw the traditional customs visually but also felt the full spirit of the rituals, music and folk language. This activity helped me connect the knowledge from books with real-life experiences."
According to Mr. Ly Hoang Luan - Secretary of the Youth Union of Vo Van Kiet Secondary and High School, Rach Gia Ward, this is the first school in the province to coordinate with the Provincial Museum to organize a dramatization of the rituals in the Southern wedding at the school. The activity helps students understand more deeply the history of traditional life and culture; connect to reality through songs, folk stories, and supplement their knowledge of fine arts when observing costumes, stages, and colors. "Thanks to observing, experiencing, and role-playing, students remember longer and develop observation, analysis, and aesthetic skills. This is a lively form of education , helping to connect theory with practice, while nurturing love of culture and national pride in students," said Mr. Ly Hoang Luan.
Dramatization in general and the dramatization of ancient Southern wedding rituals in particular is a door that opens a colorful, lively and emotional cultural world for students. Through the recreated performances, students not only see images of a familiar past but also feel the rhythm of life and the soul of their ancestors. These experiences arouse respect and a desire to explore traditional culture, helping students proactively learn, ask questions and connect the past with the present.
Nowadays, dramatization is a journey of learning, feeling, observing, imagining, turning folk cultural values into vivid, close and full of life in students' lives.
