Vinh Te takes tourism as a driving force for development

According to Secretary of Vinh Te Ward Party Committee Trang Cong Cuong, in the 2025 - 2030 term, the Ward Party Committee clearly identified the development of human resources to serve tourism development, build a civilized, safe, friendly tourism environment, and meet the sustainable development needs of the locality. The ward mobilizes social resources to invest in infrastructure, preserve and promote the value of cultural heritage, create momentum for socio- economic development, and develop a unique cultural heritage urban area.

After the administrative unit arrangement process, Vinh Te ward has many famous relics and spiritual tourism works. Notable are Ba Chua Xu Temple on Sam Mountain, Sam Mountain Cultural Park with an 81m high Buddha statue touching the cliff. Along with that is a complex of famous cultural and historical relics such as Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb, Tay An Pagoda, Phuoc Dien Pagoda... This is the basis for Vinh Te ward to set the goal of effectively exploiting the potential of spiritual tourism.

By early November 2025, the total number of visitors to the locality was more than 4.5 million, reaching 90.04% of the set target. This is the driving force for Vinh Te ward to strive to achieve the target of 5 million visitors in 2025, becoming a positive highlight in the province's tourism development activities. According to the Chairman of Vinh Te Ward People's Committee Ngo Thi My Ngoc, the number of visitors to spiritual tourist destinations in the area is forecast to increase in the last months of the year. Therefore, the locality has strengthened the work of maintaining security and order; mobilized forces to perform well the work of inspection, restoring order on roads, sidewalks, pavements, and construction order; focused on implementing civilized trade, ensuring traffic safety. The ward actively implemented a plan to develop spiritual tourism associated with eco-tourism to best exploit local potential and advantages.

As a regular visitor to the Ba Chua Xu Temple on Sam Mountain, Mr. Tran Hung, residing in Can Tho City, shared: “I have been visiting her for many years and have seen that security and order have improved. Beggars and solicitors are not allowed to enter the temple grounds to disturb visitors, so I am satisfied.”

Exploiting advantages

In order to realize the goal of attracting 5 million visitors to the locality in 2025, the People's Committee of Vinh Te Ward creates conditions for organizations and individuals to invest and develop new and unique tourism products and services in the area. At the same time, promote the role and responsibility, enhance the initiative, creativity and connection and coordination between levels, sectors, agencies, units and enterprises for the goal of building Vinh Te Ward into a civilized urban area - safe tourism.

According to Vice Chairman of Vinh Te Ward People's Committee Huynh Huong Huyen, in 2025, the locality will strive to reach 3.5% of overnight guests compared to the total number of visitors and a spending level of VND 300,000/guest.

To achieve this goal, Vinh Te ward strives to effectively implement policies to support tourism development, call for investment, urban beautification and especially to set up hotlines at tourist destinations to receive, answer information and support tourists in a timely manner. At the same time, it strengthens inspection, examination and strictly handles violations. "The ward promotes propaganda work in many forms, emphasizing the code of conduct in tourism activities so that service businesses can grasp, understand and implement well. We strengthen surveillance through the security camera system, make a list of subjects soliciting tourists to strictly handle", said Ms. Huynh Huong Huyen.

The People's Committee of Vinh Te Ward strengthens the management of accommodation for foreign tourists; prevents and stops subjects that cause insecurity and disorder, affecting the tourism environment. Coordinates well the operation of information points and supports tourists to organize reception, guide groups of visitors to visit, study and exchange experiences in the locality. Regularly takes care of trees, organizes garbage collection, decorates miniature landscapes, and cleans the Sam Mountain National Tourist Area to create a good impression for tourists.

“In the long term, the locality will continue to research and improve the quality of the Ba Chua Xu Festival on Sam Mountain while still ensuring to preserve the originality and sacredness of the heritage, helping visitors have a unique and interesting experience when coming to the land of Sam Mountain - Vinh Te,” Ms. Huynh Huong Huyen emphasized.
