Ops Luxury, a campaign by the Road Transport Department (RTD) in Malaysia that targeted luxury cars and supercars, quickly attracted the attention of the people of this country, in which 101 luxury cars were involved in many traffic violations that were handled by the police last June, and now, they continue to launch a second raid called Ops Luxury 2.0, seizing 53 more luxury cars and supercars.

Among these 53 cars, there are many cars from many famous brands in the world such as Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, and some luxury car brands such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz...

The Road Transport Department (RTD) determined that these expensive cars had not had their road tax and insurance renewed for quite a long time.

RTD Senior Director of Law Enforcement Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan said these vehicles are not usually used on a daily basis but only on weekends or special occasions.

“Some individuals may think that occasional use will save them from having to renew their road tax and insurance, but this is clearly illegal,” he said.

Muhammad Kifli added that RTD will take strict action if such vehicles are found on public roads. "We have identified the owners of these vehicles. If they are found on the road, we will take immediate action," he said.

A RM3mil Rolls-Royce Cullinan, owned by a prominent local businessman, was among the 53 luxury and exotic cars seized by RTD.

Other notable cars from the tycoons include the Lamborghini Huracan, Lamborghini Urus, BMW i8 and Aston Martin DBX supercars.

During the inspection, the authorities also discovered three vehicles driven by foreigners without valid driving licenses. One of the two drivers was carrying an international driving license, but upon closer inspection it was discovered to be fake.

These seizures were made during Operation Op Luxury 2.0, which ran from July 30 to August 1. In June, a local actress' Porsche was among 101 luxury cars confiscated by RTD during the first phase of the operation.
