Ministry of Education and Training: Mobilizing artisans, artists, and athletes to teach in schools

Educational institutions need to develop a mechanism to mobilize foreign artisans, artists, professional athletes, and volunteers to participate in organizing educational activities in schools.

Ministry of Education and Training The Ministry of Education has just issued a document guiding the implementation of general education tasks for the 2025-2026 school year.

Specifically, it requires localities to direct general education institutions to develop and implement school education plans that are appropriate to the teaching staff, existing facilities, and teaching equipment; and to organize teaching of subjects and educational activities aimed at comprehensively developing students' qualities, abilities, physical health, aesthetics, and life skills.

The Ministry of Education and Training also requested localities to comprehensively consider various solutions to overcome the teacher shortage, such as implementing teaching contracts, assigning, seconding, transferring, and arranging inter-school teaching; ensuring that the restructuring of the system does not disrupt or cause a shortage of teachers, affecting the quality of education.

Ensure there are enough teachers to organize teaching and learning for all subjects according to the general education curriculum; overcome the situation of assigning and using teachers in a manner inconsistent with their training specialization.

At the same time, we need to build a mechanism to mobilize highly qualified human resources, including artisans, artists, professional athletes, and foreign volunteers, to participate in organizing educational activities in schools, especially in the fields of culture, art, sports , and life skills.

Teachers are encouraged to proactively review and adjust lesson materials, topics, and practice materials in textbooks to suit local realities, especially in the context of administrative boundary changes and the implementation of a two-tiered local government system.

Proactively select appropriate content and topics from approved local educational materials, organize adjustments, integrate them, and use them flexibly according to the cultural, social, and geographical characteristics of the newly reorganized administrative unit.

Educational institutions need to form appropriate professional clusters; gradually improve the quality of the teaching staff, especially foreign language teachers and those teaching integrated education programs, particularly English, with the aim of making English the second language in schools.

The Ministry of Education and Training focuses on inspecting the implementation of the general education program; organizing the selection and use of textbooks and reference publications; managing extracurricular tutoring; the operation of private general education institutions; and implementing integrated education programs and foreign education programs...
