This hobby is not too new in Vietnam but is becoming more and more widespread. Recently, many famous people who have influence on young people have also shown their passion for impressive collections. With meticulousness in shaping, the price of figures is not cheap, ranging from a few million to tens of millions, even hundreds of millions of VND. Figures are usually made from PVC, ABS or Resin compounds. They have a solid structure, high durability, creating a better aesthetic effect than other materials.

Figure players must be careful in handling and cleaning their models, even ordering special cabinets and shelves for display and preservation. This is not a hobby for children but also a choice for adults - a group of people with enough experience, sophistication and strong enough financial resources to "collect" unique and strange models.

Chau Kien Toan (33 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City) has been collecting models since he was a junior high school student, starting with the larger Pokemon, he enriched his collection specializing in the Gundam series - miniature models of giant robots in the famous Japanese anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam"; followed by art toys, game models. Toan's favorite collection of monsters in the game Monster Hunter is the one. As an avid fan of this game series, Toan is passionate about collecting monsters and that is also the reason he pursues his current job - becoming a 3D graphic designer.

Practice patience

One of the many people who have influence with young people and have impressive model collections is rapper - director Neko Le (34 years old).

Nearly 3 years ago, Neko Le posted video clips introducing his interesting journey with this passion. Recently, Neko Le participated in a TV show, his expensive character model collection with many rare models had the opportunity to appear, creating a strong impression on the public.

In addition to static figures, the Action figure line, also known as models with moving joints, is also very popular with the ability to customize, replace parts, creating excitement for the owner. Looking at a private collection is a hobby of many young people after a stressful day at work. Chau Bao Ngoc (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) has only joined the figure community for a year. This new hobby helps the 28-year-old girl gradually reduce her habit of being "addicted" to her phone and surfing social networks uselessly. Ngoc often orders models from sites like Amazon, Amiami or in shopping malls. Every month, she spends a small part of her income on this passion. This is also Ngoc's way of practicing discipline, patience and living a more planned life.

With guidance, players will not be afraid of "throwing money out the window". Toan said that until now, he only buys things that are within his financial capacity and focuses on collecting by theme. "I can restore, paint or modify, add models to my liking and receive orders" - Toan said. He is planning to produce and release monster models that he makes himself in the future.

Unlike temporary trends, the figure collecting trend is expected to develop in the long term as manufacturers increasingly invest in products with high experiential value. In addition, figure community groups attracting hundreds of thousands of members... have proven the unique position of this subject in the spiritual life of young people.
