Due to strict emission standards, Honda has had to "kill" the legendary 50cc Super Cub lines since 2025. However, their absence has also left a gap for new customers with only a motorcycle license in Japan - who previously depended on the 50cc segment and below.
To save costs, Honda simply launched the Lite version of the Super Cub 110 series, which was designed for small motorbike licenses from 50 to 125cc (equivalent to A1 license in Vietnam or European countries).
Designed to replace the previous 50cc Super Cubs, the Honda Super Cub, Super Cub Pro and Cross Cub 110 Lite are essentially limited-power 110cc versions.
The engines of the three new Honda Super Cub 2026 models are developed based on the same model as the Super Cub 110 series. The cylinder capacity is also similar, 109cc.
However, the power output of the three models has been adjusted to meet the new motorcycle classification standard under 4.0kW. The maximum power is set at 3.5kW, mainly through special fuel adjustment settings.
Additionally, like the base model, the Lites come standard with cast wheels, front disc brakes, and tubeless tires, making them safer than the older 50cc Super Cubs.
External features that distinguish the Super Cub 110 Lite from the regular 110cc version include the removal of the white identification strip on the front and rear fenders, and the lack of footrests and rear seat.
The speedometer will also be limited to 60km/h and will have a speed warning light added. Unlike the old 50cc versions, the meter also has an LCD screen underneath, displaying the gear position indicator.
The remaining equipment and other parameters of the 110 Lite lines remain unchanged compared to the regular 110. Color options will include 3 colors for the Super Cub 110 Light, 1 color for the Pro and 3 colors for the Cross Cub 110 Light.
All three new Honda Super Cub models are priced 11,000 yen cheaper than the basic 110 version, at 341,000 yen (Cub), 385,000 yen (Pro) and 401,500 yen (Cross Cub) respectively (equivalent to 59.5, 67.27 and 70.15 million VND).
