Ukrainian sources confirmed that Russian military assault groups (RFAF) had broken into the center of Pokrovsk. A statement from the 7th Army of the Airborne Assault Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) said that Russian troops had failed to consolidate their positions near the railway station.

However, according to combat data, fierce fighting is currently taking place in the area near the railway station. The locomotive depot area and several buildings on Shmidta Street have also been taken over by the Russians, forming an important bridgehead for the RFAF's further offensive on the northern neighborhoods of Pokrovsk.

Of particular tactical value, the Russians managed to cross the railway line west of Pokrovsk and consolidate a bridgehead near the village of Shcherbakovka. Currently, fighting is taking place in the area of the Pokrovsk mining geological exploration company.

However, the main success of the RFAF in the northwest of Pokrovsk was to control the two roads into the city of Pokrovsk, namely the M-30 highway northwest of the city and the O0525 axis running through the village of Grishino. These roads are now no longer usable by the AFU for supplies. As a result, the Ukrainian garrison in Pokrovsk is officially completely blocked.

North of Chunishino and the western outskirts of Novopavlivka, the area along the highway is also under Russian control. The AFU supply routes into Pokrovsk are under RFAF fire control; most of the AFU equipment is being destroyed by artillery and UAV strikes.

RFAF channel said that on October 18, the first footage appeared showing the presence of Russian troops in the central area of Pokrovsk city. Currently, their two wings are only 5 km away from joining hands, closing the "death door" for the defending Ukrainian army and most likely, the city is only a few weeks away from falling.

The Military Summary channel reported that the shock units of the RFAF Central Group of Forces have begun an attack on Myrnohrad, a satellite city east of Pokrovsk. Russian troops have now entered the southeastern outskirts of Myrnohrad.
8.jpg
The outbreak of fighting inside Myrnohrad was reported in the late afternoon of October 19, but the actual attack began much earlier. According to information received the day before, Russian troops entered the city from the village of Kozatske (known in Russia as Moskovske), capturing part of Sedova Street. The AFU attempted a counterattack, aiming to push the Russians from the positions they had just taken, but without success.
15.jpg
Before that, the Russians had not carried out offensive operations in Myrnohrad; they had only used reconnaissance and commando groups to organize raids and ambushes in the city. While the offensive operations in Pokrovsk took place directly in the urban area, Myrnohrad was systematically surrounded, in order to cut off the supply lines to the Ukrainian troops there.
10.jpg
DIVGEN channel quoted an officer of the RFAF Central Group of Forces as saying that currently AFU does not have a unified defense system in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, as these two urban areas are almost isolated from each other. This could be the reason for the outbreak of fighting in Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk.
11.jpg
It is worth noting that there has been a lot of information about the deteriorating situation of the AFU in Pokrovsk in the past few days. It is emphasized that the most difficult problem for the AFU now is logistics, as the RFAF has completed the encirclement of Pokrovsk. Therefore, supplying the AFU garrison in Pokrovsk is no longer possible.
12.jpg
Earlier, the analysis of Ukrainian experts showed that if the Russian army completely cut off the road through the village of Grishino, the Ukrainian army stationed in Pokrovsk would be destroyed. Therefore, the concerns of Ukrainian experts have now become a reality, so it is not surprising.
13.jpg
In fact, the situation of the Ukrainian units was much worse, as the Russian troops took control of some areas near Myrnohrad and entered the center of the Pokrovsk urban area. Therefore, even the Ukrainian troops maneuvering inside these two urban areas suffered significant losses.
14.jpg
All roads leading to Pokrovsk are now partially or completely controlled by the RFAF. Meanwhile, the AFU continues to put up a stubborn resistance, relying on underground structures in the industrial zone. But for now, the AFU defense in Pokrovsk has no future and they are trying to hold out for political rather than military reasons.

Ukrainian sources also said that despite the current danger of Pokrovsk, the AFU General Staff has not ordered its forces to withdraw from Pokrovsk. Sources in Kiev said that President Zelensky has assigned General Syrsky the task of holding the defense line until at least the end of the year.
