Attending the meeting were: Comrade Lam Minh Dang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Duong Thi Ngoc Tho, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Thanh Binh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Triet, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Tran Quoc Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Propaganda Department; Kim Ruong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Mass Mobilization Department; Bui Quang Huy, former Member of the Central Committee of the Party, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; veteran journalists; leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and organizations; and nearly 300 delegates representing the press, artists, and intellectuals in the province.

In the warm atmosphere of the early days of the new year, delegates attending the meeting listened to representatives from Tra Vinh University, Tra Vinh Vocational College, the Khmer Anh Binh Minh Art Troupe, the Literature and Arts Association, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Provincial Journalists Association share their joy and enthusiasm regarding the province's socio -economic development, the role of intellectuals and human resources, the importance of science and technology today, and the crucial role of journalists and artists. They also made proposals and recommendations to the provincial leadership to help the activities of journalists, artists, and intellectuals become more effective in the future.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lam Minh Dang delivered a speech at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Lam Minh Dang stated that despite many adverse impacts in 2023, with the determination and efforts of the Party Committee, government, and people, coupled with the implementation of the motto "Unity, Discipline, Action, Creativity, Breakthrough, Development," Tra Vinh province achieved many outstanding results in the economic, cultural, social, national security and defense, Party building, and political system building.

26 out of 27 targets set in the Resolution were achieved or exceeded. GRDP growth reached 8.25%, the size of the economy reached VND 83,375 billion (an increase of VND 10,477 billion compared to the same period), and per capita income reached nearly VND 82 million. Administrative reform received due attention, and the province focused on improving provincial-level performance indicators such as PCI, PAR INDEX, PAPI, and SIPAS, achieving many positive changes. The province's Green Index (PGI) led the country in 2022.

Associate Professor Pham Thi Phuong Thuy, Deputy Director of the Institute of Environmental Science and Tourism, Tra Vinh University, gave a speech on human resource training for the province.

The province has 85/85 communes meeting the new rural standards, 48 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards, and 11 communes meeting the model new rural standards. Eight out of nine districts, towns, and cities have met and completed the new rural development tasks. The province is currently submitting a proposal to the Central Government for recognition of Tra Cu district as a new rural district, and Cau Ke and Tieu Can districts as advanced new rural districts. During the year, the province recognized 68 OCOP products, bringing the total number of OCOP-certified products in the province to 252.

Economic and social infrastructure continued to receive investment, especially with the commencement of the Dai Ngai Bridge project connecting Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces. Sustainable poverty reduction efforts yielded positive results; by the end of 2023, the percentage of poor households in the province was 1.19%, and the percentage of near-poor households was 2.35%. The Provincial General Hospital was recognized as a Class I hospital, effectively meeting the needs for medical examination, treatment, and healthcare for the people. Culture and education saw many positive changes; national security and defense remained stable; social democracy was promoted; Party building and the construction of the political system were consolidated and strengthened to meet the requirements of innovation and international integration; foreign relations activities were expanded and achieved positive results, making an important contribution to the fulfillment of the targets of the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025...

Dr. Tran Loi, Head of the Faculty of Economics, Culture, Arts and Tourism at Tra Vinh Vocational College, gave a speech on vocational training.

Comrade Lam Minh Dang affirmed that the above results were made possible by the positive contributions of the press, artists, and intellectuals. In particular, the press agencies in the province have done a good job of disseminating information, contributing to providing information, guiding public opinion, and creating high consensus among all strata of the people.

In 2024, the entire Party Committee, including the press, artists, and intellectuals, will continue to strive, unite, innovate, and act decisively and effectively. Press agencies will continue to publicize the focused leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, various sectors, and levels, achieving the goals set out in the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025; and will promote and mobilize the people to actively participate in building new rural areas, completing the task of building a new rural province before 2025.

Associate Professor Dr. Lam Thai Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, presented solutions regarding scientific research.

Focus on implementing the plan to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, developing special pages, sections, and topics, and launching practical and effective patriotic emulation movements. The team of journalists and reporters will continuously cultivate political integrity, professional ethics, expertise, and skills… truly becoming a bridge between Party committees, government, and the people, effectively protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

The team of artists and writers continues to be more sensitive to social changes, creating more literary and artistic works of value in terms of ideology and artistry, bearing the strong mark of innovation and inspiring aspirations to build a prosperous and beautiful Tra Vinh homeland. The intellectual community actively participates in scientific research activities, continuing to develop their creativity, sense of responsibility, and contribute their abilities and intellect to the development of the locality and the country.

Actor Thach Set, from the Khmer Anh Binh Minh Art Troupe, represented the troupe's young actors and delivered a speech at the gathering.

The Provincial Journalists Association, the Literature and Arts Association, and the Union of Science and Technology Associations will continue to strengthen their efforts in innovation, improve the quality of their activities, and promote the intellect, creative capacity, and responsibility of each member towards the development of the province.

On the occasion of the New Year, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lam Minh Dang wished the delegates; the press, artists, intellectuals of the province and their families good health, happiness and success. He wished for the revolutionary journalism, science and technology, culture and arts of the province to have new breakthroughs, flourishing and many victories in the new year!
