In the warm atmosphere of the first days of the new year, delegates attending the meeting listened to representatives of Tra Vinh University, Tra Vinh Vocational College, Khmer Art Troupe Anh Binh Minh, Literature and Arts Association, Department of Science and Technology, Provincial Journalists Association share their joy and excitement about the socio -economic development of the province, the role of intellectuals and human resources, the importance of science and technology today, the important role of the press, artists, etc. Thereby, proposing and recommending to the provincial leaders to help the activities of the press, artists and intellectuals in the coming time to be more effective.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Lam Minh Dang said: In 2023, although there are still many adverse impacts, with the determination and efforts of the Party Committee, the government and the people associated with the implementation of the motto "Solidarity, Discipline, Action, Creativity, Breakthrough, Development", the economic, cultural, social, national security and defense situation, Party building work, and political system building of Tra Vinh province have achieved many outstanding results.

26/27 targets of the Resolution were achieved and exceeded. GRDP growth reached 8.25%, economic scale reached 83,375 billion VND (an increase of 10,477 billion VND over the same period), average income per capita reached nearly 82 million VND/person. Administrative reform work received due attention, the province focused on improving provincial assessment indexes such as: PCI, PAR INDEX, PAPI, SIPAS, achieving many positive changes, the provincial green index (PGI) led the country in 2022.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Phuong Thuy, Deputy Director of the Institute of Environmental Science and Tourism, Tra Vinh University, spoke about human resource training for the province.

The whole province has 85/85 communes meeting new rural standards, 48 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 11 communes meeting model new rural standards, 08/09 districts, towns and cities meeting standards and completing the task of building new rural areas. The Central Government is submitting to the Government for decision to recognize Tra Cu district meeting the criteria for new rural districts, Cau Ke and Tieu Can districts meeting the criteria for advanced new rural districts. During the year, the province recognized 68 OCOP products, bringing the total number of OCOP certified products in the province to 252.

Economic and social infrastructure continues to be invested, especially the construction of Dai Ngai Bridge Project connecting Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces. Sustainable poverty reduction has achieved positive results, by the end of 2023, the number of poor households in the province will be 1.19%, 2.35% of near-poor households. The Provincial General Hospital is recognized as a Grade I hospital, well meeting the needs of medical examination and treatment, and health care for the people. Culture and education have many positive changes, security and defense remain stable, social democracy is promoted; Party building and political system building have been consolidated and enhanced to meet the requirements of innovation and international integration, foreign affairs activities have been expanded and have had positive effects, contributing significantly to the completion of the targets of the Resolution of the 11th Tra Vinh Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025...

Dr. Tran Loi, Head of the Faculty of Economics, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Tra Vinh Vocational College, spoke about vocational training.

Comrade Lam Minh Dang affirmed that the above results had positive contributions from the press, artists, and intellectuals. In particular, the press agencies in the province have done a good job of propaganda, contributing to providing information, orienting public opinion, and creating high consensus among the people.

In 2024, the entire Party Committee, including the press, artists and intellectuals, will continue to make efforts, unite, innovate, be creative, and act decisively and effectively. Press agencies will continue to promote the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, sectors and levels, achieving the goals set in the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025; promote and mobilize people to actively participate in the construction of new rural areas, completing the task of building a new rural province before 2025.

Associate Professor, Dr. Lam Thai Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, presented solutions on scientific research.

Focus on deploying and implementing the plan to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, building special pages, columns, topics, launching practical and effective patriotic emulation movements. The team of journalists and reporters always practice political mettle, professional ethics, expertise, and skills... to truly become a bridge between the Party Committee, the government, and the People, effectively carrying out the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

The team of artists continues to be more sensitive to changes in society, creating more literary and artistic works of ideological and artistic value, bearing the mark of innovation and arousing the aspiration to rise up and build a rich and beautiful homeland of Tra Vinh. The team of intellectuals actively participates in scientific research activities, continues to promote creativity, sense of responsibility, and dedicates their capacity and intelligence to the development of the locality and the country.

Actor Thach Set, Khmer Art Troupe Anh Binh Minh, representing the troupe's young actors, spoke at the meeting.

The Provincial Journalists Association, the Literature and Arts Association, and the Union of Science and Technology Associations continue to strengthen innovation, improve the quality of activities, promote the intelligence, creativity and responsibility of each member for the development of the province.
