Huawei is ready to upgrade its Mate XT foldable smartphone even though no one has caught up yet

The world hasn't even gotten good at folding phones yet, Huawei has already scheduled their famous 3-fold smartphone.

Huawei has officially confirmed the launch date of its second-generation tri-fold smartphone, the Mate XTs.

The event will take place at 2:30 p.m. Beijing time (6:30 a.m. UTC) on September 4. It is the successor to the Mate XT series launched last year and continues to expand Huawei's portfolio of multi-hinge foldable devices.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, shared a short teaser of the product. In the video , he appears with the Mate XTs with a stylus on the main screen.

The device appears in white with a gold border, with a design similar in size to its predecessor. The Mate XTs are revealed in two new colors compared to last year, available in Red or Black options.

In the teasers, the Mate XTs are seen in a new purple color and a white color option. The teaser also reveals that the Mate XTs will support stylus input.

According to previous rumors, the Mate XTs will be equipped with the new Kirin 9020 chipset, supporting satellite connectivity. The device is expected to have a 50 MP main camera with variable aperture, accompanied by an upgraded telephoto periscope lens. Meanwhile, the screen and battery capacity are said to remain the same as on the Mate XT.

The Mate XTs will be able to be used with a stylus.

According to the online store, the next-generation "Unrivaled" smartphone will be sold with 16GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB RAM and memory options.

In terms of price, Mate XTs will likely have the same starting price as the previous generation at 20,000 yuan, equivalent to about 73.7 million VND. This continues to be one of the most high-end smartphone lines on the Chinese market.

Meanwhile, the Mate XT also gets new colors available for pre-order through Huawei's official online store in China. The store listing confirms four color options, namely - Dark Black, White, Hibiscus Purple, and Ruihong Red.
