Hue inaugurates high-quality sand and quartz powder processing factory

Delegates performed the button-pressing ceremony to inaugurate the Hue Premium Silica Factory Project.

This is one of the key projects of Hue city on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (1945-2025), welcoming the 17th Hue City Party Congress (term 2025-2030). Attending were comrades: Le Truong Luu, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the City National Assembly Delegation and Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee.

Project Director, representative of HPS Project Management Board, Mr. Nguyen Anh Nguyen spoke at the inauguration ceremony.

The HPS factory processes high-quality low-iron quartz sand and powder, covering an area of 7.3 hectares, with a product capacity of 440,000 tons/year from 2023, operating under the international ISO management system for quality, environment and labor safety. After upgrading the new line, the total main product capacity of the entire factory will reach 880,000 tons/year. Low-iron silica products under 80ppm, under 60ppm and under 40ppm are of high quality, meeting international standards.

The factory's products meet the needs of the domestic high-end glass manufacturing industry (solar panel glass, TFT, tempered, super white, etc.), conquering markets with strict standards such as Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc.

The production line at HPS has expanded, inheriting and developing technology from more than 30 leading European factories, the laboratory is invested according to German standards, 100% automatic operation, created and owned by Vietnamese people, with a localization rate of 60% with outstanding improvements, such as: Mastering the technology of producing low iron silica <80ppm, <60ppm and <40ppm; applying the latest machinery and equipment from EU/G7, upgrading the automation system with the latest equipment from Siemens (Germany)...

Hue city leaders visited the HPS factory.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Nguyen, Project Director, representative of the HPS Expansion Project Management Board, shared: "The HPS factory started construction in February 2020 and was completed and put into commercial operation in July 2021, becoming a pioneering high-quality low-iron sand and quartz powder processing factory in the mining industry with 4 superior factors. HPS is determined to link production development with community responsibility, implementing many practical and meaningful social responsibility programs locally."

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong highly appreciated the efforts of departments, branches and localities; especially Viet Phuong Group and HPS Company, in a short time, have promoted a sense of responsibility, high determination, and close coordination to complete procedures and bring the project to the finish line on schedule.

When put into operation, Mr. Phuong suggested that HPS Company continue to mobilize maximum resources, ensure safe-efficient-sustainable production; comply with environmental standards, save energy. At the same time, prioritize recruiting and training local workers, gradually increase the localization rate, be transparent in management and closely coordinate with authorities to promptly remove difficulties.

Hue City determines: "The success of enterprises is also the success of the city"; will commit to continue directing departments and branches to accompany and provide maximum support; maintain an interdisciplinary working group, complete infrastructure and support HPS in promoting the market; ensure a stable, transparent and most favorable investment environment for the long-term development of HPS and Viet Phuong Group.
