The tech giant has just officially integrated the feature of creating videos from text into the Bing application on mobile platforms, affirming its position in the competitive AI race.

Bing's new video creation tool is built on OpenAI's cutting-edge Sora AI model. As OpenAI's largest investor, it makes sense that Microsoft would be quick to incorporate the company's AI models into its products.

Notably, while users typically have to sign up for a ChatGPT Plus account for $20/month to use Sora, the Bing integration allows users to experience this powerful video creation technology completely free.

How to use Bing to create videos from description text

Currently, Microsoft's video creation tool is only available on the Bing app for Android and iOS, not on the web or desktop. Users can download the Bing app for Android here and the iOS version here.

The first time you launch the Bing app on your smartphone, you’ll need to tap “Allow” to grant permission to send notifications. This will let Bing know when the video creation process is complete.

The “Introducing Copilot Search in Bing” dialog can be skipped by clicking “Not now”.

On the main interface of Bing application, a dialog box “Welcome to Bing Video Maker” will appear. Users can click “Try Now” to get started.

On subsequent uses, this feature can be accessed by clicking “Try it now” under “Turn your ideas into videos” on the main interface, or by clicking the tools button in the bottom right corner and selecting “Video Maker”.

In the video creation interface, users enter a text description in the blank box, then click “Create”. Bing supports descriptions in Vietnamese. Providing as detailed a description as possible about style, context, topic, and other details will help Bing create the video that best meets the requirements.

By default, Bing only allows videos up to 5 seconds long, in a 9:16 vertical ratio, which is similar to popular short video formats on Instagram. Microsoft says it will upgrade to support more diverse video lengths and ratios in the future.

Each user is given 10 free attempts to create a video in “Quick” mode, which takes just a few minutes to process. Once the free attempts are used up, the user switches to standard mode, which can take up to an hour to create a video.

To continue using “Fast” mode, users can use Microsoft reward points (100 points/time). By default, each account has 332 reward points and can earn more points by performing daily tasks on the Bing application.

While Bing is creating the video, users can exit the app and use their smartphone normally. When the video is finished, the app will send a notification and store the created videos.

To download the video to your device or share it on social media, simply tap on the created video and select the down arrow icon.
