The National Target Program for Building New Rural Areas (NRA) for the period 2021-2024 has been implemented vigorously in Bac Lieu province, achieving many positive results. The appearance of rural areas is becoming increasingly bright, green, clean, and beautiful, and the material and spiritual lives of the people are constantly improving. However, to achieve the goal of building sustainable NRA, from now until 2030, the province will continue to propose many specific and comprehensive solutions.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Thieu presented certificates recognizing Vinh Trach commune as a model new rural area and Vinh Trach Dong commune as an advanced new rural area (Bac Lieu City).

NOTABLE RESULTS

To date, all 49/49 communes in the province have met the criteria for New Rural Development, achieving a 100% rate. Of these, 21 communes have met the criteria for advanced New Rural Development, accounting for 42.85%, and 8 communes have met the criteria for model New Rural Development, accounting for 16.33%. Two district-level units, Phuoc Long district and Bac Lieu city, have been recognized by the central government as New Rural Development districts, completing the task of building New Rural Development. This has contributed to improving the material and spiritual lives of rural people, enhancing infrastructure and living environment, and promoting economic restructuring in rural areas.

New or upgraded infrastructure projects such as transportation networks, schools, and healthcare facilities have contributed to improving the quality of life for the people. Simultaneously, environmental protection and the provision of clean water have been prioritized, further improving community living conditions. Effective agricultural production models have been replicated, thereby increasing productivity and product quality, and boosting income for rural residents.
