In order to effectively promote resources and properly implement the policies of the Party and State, the authorities are synchronously implementing solutions to realize the primary and secondary schools in border areas in the direction of happy schools.
In early August, Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Thanh Xuan and the working group directly surveyed the actual situation at the construction sites of primary and secondary boarding schools in 4 land border communes adjacent to Mondulkiri province (Cambodia): Buon Don, Ea Bung, Ia Lop and Ia Rve.
Accordingly, the border communes currently have 13 schools from primary to secondary level (7 primary schools and 6 secondary schools) with 4,387 students (2,509 primary school students, 1,878 secondary school students). The number of students who study 2 sessions/day is 3,852, of which 2,509 are primary school students and 1,343 are secondary school students (accounting for 87.80%).
Colonel Dinh Van Hung, Political Commissar of Dak Lak Provincial Military Command, grasped the thoughts and aspirations of Ia Lop commune students about building an inter-level school. |
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Lop Commune, the commune has two schools close to each other, Nguyen Trai Primary School and Tran Hung Dao Secondary School. The land separating the two schools is also public land with a row of public housing for teachers. This is a favorable condition for the locality to convert and upgrade the land area for education to more than 5 hectares, enough to build a boarding school for local children. The people of Ia Lop Commune are very excited and expect that the inter-level school with a thorough and meticulous investment will bring a safe and happy learning environment for their children.
The rapid campaign to build 100 primary and secondary boarding schools in the border communes is being reviewed by the provincial authorities to ensure the progress, quality and sustainability of the project.
Colonel Dinh Van Hung, Political Commissar of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command, said that the unit will closely coordinate with sectors and localities to ensure the progress of building inter-level schools in border communes. This will better care for students, contribute to improving people's knowledge, developing local human resources, building a popular position in border communes, and spreading the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new situation.
Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Thanh Xuan added that the repair and new construction options were presented for thorough discussion and selection in accordance with actual conditions and sustainable goals. The Department also requested the commune authorities to continue to closely coordinate with the specialized departments of the Department of Education and Training, departments and branches of the province to review and compare regulations to ensure overall progress, savings and quality assurance. The responsibility of the communes is to adjust the planning to deploy construction and expansion of schools to meet the criteria of reaching national standards at level 2. The implementation process needs to closely follow reality to have appropriate construction plans to effectively promote investment resources and ensure future operating conditions. For example, in Ia Lop commune, it is necessary to pay attention to the water source contaminated with alum during the construction process, ensuring clean water for students.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuong (An village, Ia Lop commune) shared that in recent years, his children have received gifts to encourage them to overcome difficulties and study. However, the road is far away (the house is about 10 km from the school) and the climate in the border area is harsh, making it very difficult for the children to go to school, and many days they have to take days off from school. "This time, when we heard that the State is preparing to build an inter-level school near our house, ensuring adequate facilities for teaching and learning, we, the parents, are very happy and feel secure in entrusting our children to the school, focusing on economic development and stabilizing our lives," Mr. Phuong confided.
The policy and process of building a primary and secondary boarding school has brought a breath of fresh air with the goal of taking care of the education of children in border communes in the best way. |
