These days, when traveling on the roads in Dong Kinh, Ky Lua, Tam Thanh or Luong Van Tri wards, it is easy to see the increasing appearance of electric vehicles, from electric bicycles, electric motorbikes to electric cars. These clean energy vehicles are becoming a popular choice in people's daily lives.
Bringing his car to the charging station, Mr. Pham Duc Canh, residing on Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Luong Van Tri Ward, shared: I chose an electric car because it is suitable for the needs of moving around the city. The car operates smoothly, does not make noise or smell bad. Most importantly, the car does not emit CO₂, helping me contribute a small part to protecting the environment.
By the end of 2024, the province had nearly 42,500 registered and circulating cars. Of these, electric cars accounted for about 17%. In addition, the province also recorded more than 29,900 electric motorbikes in circulation. Since the beginning of 2025, the trend of using green vehicles has continued to increase, with 260 electric cars and nearly 600 electric motorbikes newly registered. |
At the same charging point, there were five other cars charging. This image is becoming more common in urban areas.
The rise of electric vehicles is not only reflected in the number of vehicles in circulation but also in the increasing shopping needs of the people. Along with that, local businesses have also begun to increase the production and distribution of electric vehicles to meet this trend.
In Lang Son , DK Viet Nhat Electric Vehicle Company Limited is one of the pioneers in developing electric vehicles. Ms. Hoang Minh Hanh, Head of the company's Sales Department, said: Recently, the demand for electric vehicles has increased sharply. People are starting to pay more attention to energy-saving and convenient vehicles for urban travel. The company currently distributes 15 electric motorbike models, suitable for many customers, especially students and urban residents with short-term travel needs. The company's electric vehicle output averages about 150 vehicles/day, increasing to 250 vehicles/day during peak season. To encourage people to use green vehicles, the company has implemented a separate stimulus program for customers in the province for each vehicle model.
According to statistics from the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police, by the end of 2024, the whole province had nearly 42,500 registered and circulating cars. Of which, electric cars accounted for about 17%. In addition, the whole province also recorded more than 29,900 electric motorbikes in circulation. Since the beginning of 2025, the trend of using green vehicles has continued to increase, with 260 electric cars and nearly 600 electric motorbikes newly registered.
Mr. Dinh Ky Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: Recently, the number of vehicles using electric energy in the province has increased significantly. The increasing preference of people for electric vehicles brings many practical benefits, helping to reduce operating and maintenance costs for users. In particular, electric vehicles do not emit CO₂ during operation, thereby helping to improve air quality and protect the environment. In the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to coordinate with relevant departments and branches in promoting support policies, encouraging businesses to invest in developing electric charging station infrastructure systems to meet increasing demand, aiming at the goal of saving energy, reducing emissions and sustainable development.
Electric vehicles are considered one of the suitable options, contributing to realizing the goal of sustainable transport development of the province in the coming time. According to incomplete statistics, the whole province currently has about 20 electric charging points for cars. Currently, relevant departments and branches are conducting a survey of the current infrastructure status, from which to develop a complete plan, especially the public electric charging station system to help people feel more secure when using electric vehicles.
Switching to electric vehicles is not only a change in means of transportation but also a change in mindset from immediate convenience to a sustainable choice for the future. Therefore, for this journey to be truly effective, coordination between the government, businesses and the community is needed. Authorities need to continue investing in infrastructure, coordinate to develop safe battery treatment solutions; businesses need to expand the network of charging stations, and people should proactively choose a green lifestyle and responsible consumption.
