September and October are considered the best time to visit the famous Ban Gioc waterfall, when the water is full and clear, and the weather is cool. This is also the time when the Ban Gioc waterfall festival takes place, attracting many tourists.
However, this year, due to the impact of consecutive storms, the water level at the waterfall has risen, the flow is strong and fierce day and night, posing many potential safety risks for tourists.
The Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area Management Board said that the area had to temporarily close to visitors from September 30 to October 3 due to the impact of storm Bualoi, and continued to close from the morning of October 7 when storm Matmo caused heavy rain and rising water levels.

Thai Duong, a photographer in Trung Khanh, Cao Bang, captured the image of the waterfall on the afternoon of October 1. As a local, Duong has never seen the waterfall continuously affected by storms and severe flooding in October like this year.
From Trung Khanh commune to the foot of the waterfall, many roads were deeply flooded, making travel difficult.

In addition, the Management Board also recommends that visitors regularly monitor official announcements from the authorities and the official website of the tourist area to update the situation and reopening time.
