The city is expected to hold the launching ceremony for the Month of Action for Children between May 25-29 in Ban Thach ward. In addition, the 12th "Lighting Up Dreams" program is scheduled to take place on June 1st in Tra My commune, in collaboration with the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights and the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department ( Ministry of Public Security ).
One of the highlights of this year's plan is the emphasis on the responsibility of protecting children in the digital space. The city recognizes the need to equip children with the necessary digital knowledge, skills, and competencies to become safe and responsible "digital citizens." Communication slogans such as "Protecting children online is everyone's responsibility," "Online safety - A secure future," and "Equip children with safe digital skills starting today" will be widely implemented in the community.
During the month of action, departments, agencies, and localities will focus on organizing many professional activities such as regular health check-ups for children; implementing school dental and myopia examinations; teaching swimming, training skills in preventing accidents, injuries, and drowning; caring for students' mental health and building a violence-free school environment.
Notably, the city mobilizes social resources to support poor children, children with serious illnesses, children needing surgery for congenital deformities, and children receiving inpatient treatment at hospitals. At the same time, it encourages businesses, organizations, and individuals to participate in building playgrounds, libraries, schools, and other facilities for children.
The Department of Education and Training is tasked with strengthening the dissemination of self-protection skills to students, preventing school violence, drowning, and traffic accidents; and continuing to implement the "Safe Swimming" program for students throughout the city.
The Department of Science and Technology is coordinating efforts to strengthen the management, control, and protection of children in the online environment.
The plan also requires localities to ensure a safe and healthy summer vacation for children through cultural, sports, outdoor activities, and traditional education programs suitable to local conditions; and to proactively review areas at risk of drowning accidents, traffic accidents, and injuries to children in order to promptly address them.
