Specifically, according to a quick report from the People's Committee of Huu Lung district, from July 21 to now, there has been prolonged heavy rain in the district, the water level on Trung River and Thuong River, and streams is rising. Many traffic routes, underground bridges, and spillways across streams have been flooded. As of 7:30 a.m. on June 23, the water level on Trung River is at alert level III (2016 mm).
As of 7:30 a.m. on June 23, the district had recorded 39 flooded areas, 5 landslides, and 11 isolated villages, cutting off 480 households. The district's Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue (PCTT&TKCN) has directed forces to evacuate 41 households from dangerous areas.
In addition, heavy rains have flooded 0.5 hectares of aquaculture and over 341 hectares of rice and crops. Currently, many rice areas are in the preparation stage for harvest and are at risk of total loss.
Faced with that situation, the District Party Committee, the District People's Committee, and the District Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control have directed drastically, mobilized local forces to support and help households clean up the scene, move households at risk of flooding to safe places; placed barriers and warning signs at flooded underground bridges, arranged 24/7 emergency forces, banned all means of transport from passing through to ensure safety; placed warning signs on landslide routes; continued to mobilize equipment ready to respond when incidents occur... to soon stabilize people's lives.
