Previously, at around 7:00 a.m. on September 27, Mr. Luong Van An, resident of Muong Hin village (Tien Phong commune), discovered a bomb in a stream next to his house, after rainwater eroded the rock layer.

Upon receiving the news, the Military Command of Tien Phong Commune coordinated with the Military Command of Que Phong District to quickly send forces to the scene, block off the area with the bomb, set up signs in dangerous areas, and organize guards to ensure safety.

Upon inspection, the bomb was a demolition bomb left over from the war, 40cm in diameter, 150cm long and weighing about 340kg. It was colorless, still had the detonator intact and was rusty. Using professional techniques, the Engineering Department, Nghe An Province Military Command, neutralized the detonator.

By this morning (September 29), the authorities had salvaged and transported the bomb to the Na Chang hill area (Tien Phong commune) to successfully and safely detonate it.
