Mr. Pheng Na Chan Tha Phon - Secretary of the District Party Committee, District Chief of Dac Chung district and Mr. A Viet Son - Chairman of Nam Giang district People's Committee co-chaired the conference.
The report at the conference showed that recently, the political security situation and social order and safety in the border area of the two districts have been stable, and border sovereignty has been maintained.
Since 2017, the two sides have coordinated to organize bilateral patrols to protect border markers 29 times/488 officers and soldiers participated; strictly manage entry and exit activities at border gates, prevent sabotage activities of hostile forces, and strengthen defense and security in border areas.
At the same time, it creates favorable conditions for border traffic activities, meets the requirements of international integration and economic development in each district, associated with protecting national sovereignty , and ensures compliance with principles and procedures.
The functional forces protecting national border sovereignty of the two districts of Nam Giang and Dac Chung regularly hold periodic talks to inform and exchange situations related to border sovereignty and political security, social order and safety in border areas and border gates.
In addition, the organization established a twinning relationship between border posts located in Nam Giang district and Border Guard Company 533 (Laos); thereby strengthening national defense and security, building solidarity between the forces of the two sides.
The two districts create conditions for sectors, localities and people of twin villages to exchange culture, visit relatives, and help each other in times of trouble, natural disasters and epidemics. Nam Giang district also creates conditions and helps people of Dac Chung district to go to the district's Medical Center for medical examination and treatment.
In 2018, Nam Giang District Medical Center organized a team of doctors to carry out a diphtheria vaccination campaign in 8 border villages of Dac Chung district with 1,369 subjects aged 5 to 49.
The two districts have promoted cooperation and mutual assistance in economic development and poverty reduction. Since 2017, Nam Giang district has supported the people of Dac Chung district in developing production and social security with a total budget of about 5 billion VND.
At the conference, Nam Giang and Dac Chung districts agreed to organize annual conferences every two years and take turns; agreed to organize the 6th cooperation conference in 2026 in Nam Giang district.
