Thuy Nguyen District receives the First-Class Independence Order.

On October 22nd, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city, solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the "Thuy Nguyen Uprising" tradition (October 25, 1948 - October 25, 2023) and to receive the First-Class Independence Order.

At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang presented the First-Class Independence Order – the highest award of the Party and State – to the Party Committee, government, and people of Thuy Nguyen district.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, congratulated the Party Committee, government, and people of Thuy Nguyen district. He also affirmed that the task of building and developing Thuy Nguyen district into a city directly under Hai Phong City before 2025 is very important, fraught with difficulties and challenges, but also a great honor and opportunity for the local development.

In the coming period, the Party Committee and the government of Hai Phong City will continue to direct and focus resources on accelerating urban construction and development, forming modern new urban areas as well as other industrial, urban, and service development projects in Thuy Nguyen district.

Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, delivered a speech at the ceremony to receive the First-Class Independence Order for Thuy Nguyen district.

According to information from the People's Committee of Thuy Nguyen district, through the wars to defend the Fatherland, the locality has 5,010 martyrs, 2,593 wounded and sick soldiers, and 387 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers. With outstanding achievements, 8 individuals, 19 communes, and Thuy Nguyen district were awarded the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces".

In recognition of their immense contributions to the national liberation struggle, the Party and State have awarded the Party Committee, government, and people of Thuy Nguyen district more than 20,400 medals and decorations of various kinds. Among these are 25 Independence Medals.

Continuing that glorious tradition, and taking advantage of the support and assistance from the Central Government and Hai Phong City, Thuy Nguyen district's economy has developed strongly and achieved many important results in recent years.

Over the past 10 years, from 2013 to 2023, the production value of all sectors in Thuy Nguyen district has consistently exceeded targets and maintained a high level, averaging 15.6% per year. The industrial-construction and service sectors currently account for 93.2% of the local economic structure. Thuy Nguyen district currently has one economic zone, five industrial parks/clusters, three industrial sites, and numerous craft villages and industrial-construction areas.

In implementing Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo on the construction and development of Hai Phong City until 2030, with a vision to 2045, Hai Phong City has identified Thuy Nguyen district as one of the three breakthrough directions in urban space, serving as the administrative, political, commercial, financial, banking, and urban center of the port city.

Resolution No. 22/NQ-HĐND of the 16th term of the Hai Phong City People's Council clearly defines the objectives: Before 2025, Thuy Nguyen district will meet the criteria for a type III urban area; and complete the criteria for a type II urban area before 2035 .
