The iPhone 14 and a series of other Apple products will disappear from the European market after December 28 due to non-compliance with the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

Specifically, Apple will have to stop selling some iPhone models in 27 countries in the European Union (EU) from December 28, notably the iPhone 14 series and iPhone SE 3.
The reason is that the Digital Markets Act (DMA) has officially come into effect in EU countries. This law requires all electronic devices sold in EU countries, including smartphones, tablets or cameras... to use the same USB-C charging standard.
This bill, passed in 2022, aims to reduce waste, cut down on e-waste from accessories and make it more convenient for users to use the same charger for many different devices.
The introduction of DMA forced Apple to abandon the proprietary Lightning port and switch to the popular USB-C charging port since the iPhone 15 version launched last year.
As a result, Apple will be forced to completely stop selling the iPhone 14 series and the 3rd generation iPhone SE within the next 2 weeks, when the DMA officially takes effect. These are iPhone models using the Lightning port that are still being sold in EU countries.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone SE 3 series will continue to be sold by Apple in markets outside the EU, at least until the iPhone 17 generation is launched in September next year. At this point, "Apple" will officially stop selling the iPhone 14 series, officially ending the era of iPhones using the Lightning connector port.
Apple is expected to launch the 4th generation iPhone SE in the first quarter of 2025, with a chassis design similar to the iPhone 14, with an edge-to-edge screen, upgraded cameras, and a USB-C charging port.
