iPhone charges faster in winter?

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên13/01/2025

Studies have shown that one of the key factors that affects the charging time of iPhones in particular and smartphones in general is temperature, which can vary depending on the season and climate conditions. As a result, there are clear differences between charging times, including cable charging and MagSafe wireless charging, charging while in use or charging at night.

Charging an iPhone battery at 15 degrees Celsius is faster than at 30 degrees Celsius

Apple recommends that the ideal temperature for charging an iPhone is between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. However, it's worth noting that 25 degrees Celsius in the sun isn't the same as in the shade. Also, using your iPhone while charging or choosing between a MagSafe charger and a cable can make a difference, especially between different versions of the device.

What is the ideal temperature to charge an iPhone?

Although the ideal temperature for charging an iPhone is between 20 - 25 0 C, it has been shown that the iPhone will charge faster in an environment with a temperature of 15 0 C. This means that in winter or when the temperature is low, charging an iPhone can be more efficient than in summer.

According to the recommendation, high temperatures can cause many problems with the charging process. As the temperature increases, the iPhone may pause charging or even stop completely when it reaches a certain percentage. This forces users to stop using the phone if they want to fully charge the battery before going out.

On the contrary, in cold weather, it is easier to cool the device. Even when using the phone, the temperature of the device can be improved. However, using the battery in cold conditions is not a good solution because extreme temperatures can damage the battery.
