Iran releases video of missile launch targeting US base in Kuwait.

(CLO) On May 28, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released a video showing the moment it launched retaliatory missiles at a US military base, following an attack that Tehran accused the US of carrying out near Bandar Abbas airport earlier that day.

According to Fars and Tasnim news agencies, the IRGC said that US forces used flying objects to attack an area on the outskirts of Bandar Abbas airport in the early hours of May 28.

In response, Iran claimed to have launched an attack at approximately 4:50 a.m. local time on a US air base that Tehran considered "the source of the aggression."

The IRGC described the attack as a “stern warning,” and declared that any further action by the US would face a “more forceful response.” The video released by the group reportedly shows the missile launch phase in the retaliatory operation.

However, Iranian media did not specify which US bases were targeted in the attack. Meanwhile, Kuwait claimed it faced a missile and drone attack amid escalating regional tensions, despite a fragile ceasefire between Iran and the US. The Kuwaiti military confirmed the attack but did not specify the target.

The latest developments come amid escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran and the US reportedly exchanging fire on May 28.

According to Tasnim, citing a military source, IRGC naval forces opened fire on a US oil tanker allegedly attempting to navigate this strategic shipping lane after it switched off its radar system.

The report also stated that US forces subsequently attacked an area near Bandar Abbas. According to Iran, the explosions there caused no casualties or property damage.

In another development, Tasnim reported that Iranian naval forces intercepted four ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz into the Persian Gulf without coordination with Iranian authorities.
