Specifically, according to the recall notice from the supplier in the Australian market, the Isuzu D-Max and mu-X duo are having problems with the lower steering shaft that can come off while in operation, increasing the risk of accidents and causing serious injury, or putting surrounding vehicles in danger.
The cause of the incident was determined to be that the steering shaft mounting bolt may have a torque value lower than the specifications, this part may loosen during use and may pop out, causing loss of steering in the worst case.
The D-Max and mu-X duo are having problems with the lower steering shaft that can come off while in operation.
A total of 15,542 Isuzu D-max and mu-X vehicles were recalled in the Australian market this time, all from the 2020 - 2022 model years, all manufactured in Thailand from June 2020 to October 2022.
It is known that the two models D-Max and mu-X currently supplied in Vietnam are imported completely from Thailand like the vehicles supplied to the Australian market. Isuzu D-Max in Vietnam belongs to the mid-range pickup segment with a selling price of 630 - 850 million VND, competing with rivals such as Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi Triton or Mazda BT-50. Meanwhile, mu-X is an SUV model positioned in the D segment with a selling price of 900 million - 1.19 billion VND, competing with rivals such as Hyundai SantaFe, KIA Sorento, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport or Ford Everest.
Isuzu Vietnam has not yet had an official response on whether the D-max and mu-X models supplied on the market have the same origin and similar production time, are they related to this recall?
