According to Record , Benfica offered 25 million euros for 50% ownership of Felix. Chelsea accepted this option to push the Portuguese star to leave this summer. The deal is likely to be completed on July 25, opening up the opportunity for Felix to play in the match against Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce on July 27.

Previously, Benfica reached a personal agreement with Felix. The 25-year-old star wants to return to his old team to revive his career.

Felix joined Chelsea in August 2024 for a fee of nearly 50 million euros from Atletico Madrid, but has not lived up to expectations. He is a versatile player who can play in many different positions such as central striker, winger, attacking midfielder and second striker. Felix made 40 appearances for Chelsea in two different periods and scored 11 goals.

Last month, coach Enzo Maresca removed Felix from the list of players attending the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the US, which further boosted the player's determination to find a new destination.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have also made strong additions to their attack, signing Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens for a total fee of nearly £150 million.
