On December 13, in Ha Long city, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh province organized a conference to connect businesses supplying and consuming safe agricultural, forestry and fishery products with some northern provinces. More than 70 production, business and consumption establishments in Quang Ninh province and northern provinces and cities participated in the conference.
At the conference, representatives of localities; food production, processing, trading and consumption establishments inside and outside the province participated in sharing, exchanging, connecting, and finding partners to promote trade, supply, and consumption of safe agricultural, forestry and fishery products, ensuring quality to consumers. Representatives of localities, representatives of production, distribution and consumption units signed the Coordination Regulation on implementing quality management, food safety, and food safety; signed a memorandum of understanding on agricultural production, processing and trading establishments.
Over the past time, overcoming many difficulties, the agricultural sector of Quang Ninh province has focused on developing sustainable agricultural production in the direction of commodity production, innovating the form of production organization associated with the linkage chain; developing key products with high economic value. Currently, the province has planned 17 concentrated production areas and applied high technology in production; many units have applied advanced production management processes such as GMP, VietGAP, VietGAPH, HACCP, ISO,... The whole province has developed 696 agricultural, forestry and fishery processing facilities; 393 OCOP products with 3-5 stars, of which over 200 OCOP products are agricultural products, 100% of OCOP products with 3-5 stars are put on e-commerce platforms.
Many efforts, including the well-implemented connection of production, supply and consumption of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in 2024, have helped Quang Ninh agricultural products avoid local product surpluses. The whole province is estimated to have consumed more than 212,000 tons of grain; nearly 103,000 tons of fresh meat of all kinds; 168,850 tons of aquatic products. The export output of agricultural, forestry and fishery products is estimated at nearly 3 million tons, with an estimated export value of 400 million USD.
The 2024 conference on connecting businesses supplying and consuming agricultural, forestry and fishery products is an opportunity for managers, manufacturers, and distributors of agricultural product chains to share market channels and introduce product standards and quality. In addition, this is also an opportunity to promote activities to find partners and connect production units with product consuming businesses to effectively implement the program "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".
