Connecting markets for flood season fish

On October 2, the Institute of Climate Change (An Giang University, Ho Chi Minh City National University) coordinated with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to organize the Conference on connecting the flood season fish market in 2025. The event was attended by experts in the aquaculture industry, businesses purchasing fish in Chau Doc ward, cooperatives and farmers participating in the flood season fish farming model.

At the conference, delegates provided an overview of the Mekong NbS project and the fish storage models being implemented in 2025 in An Giang ; information on businesses' needs regarding quality standards and purchasing conditions; farmers shared about the model's operations, proposed their desire to connect to the consumer market for the types of fish being raised in the model...

Currently, the Institute of Climate Change (An Giang University, Ho Chi Minh City National University) is coordinating with WWF to implement a model of raising tilapia and catfish in pens in Van Tra hamlet; a model of natural fish storage, tourism and processing of dried fish meeting OCOP standards in Vinh Dong hamlet, An Cu commune (An Giang province).

Through the conference, we will help to understand the market demand for freshwater fish, connect groups of farmers implementing the flood season fish storage model with businesses and consumers. At the same time, update the market demand and standards so that farmers can standardize the process of raising freshwater fish in the coming time.
