At the conference, delegates provided an overview of the Mekong NbS project and the freshwater fish farming models being implemented in An Giang in 2025; information on business needs regarding quality standards and purchasing conditions; farmers shared about the operation of the model and proposed their desire to connect with consumption markets for the fish species being raised in the model…
Currently, the Institute for Climate Change (An Giang University, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) is collaborating with WWF to implement a model for raising tilapia and catfish in enclosed areas in Van Tra hamlet; and a model for natural fish storage, tourism , and processing dried fish according to OCOP standards in Vinh Dong hamlet, An Cu commune (An Giang province).
The conference aimed to understand the market demand for freshwater fish, connect groups of farmers implementing flood season fish storage models with businesses and traders for consumption, and update market demands and standards to help farmers standardize their freshwater fish farming processes in the future.
