Accordingly, the 2023 Environmental Monitoring of Dien Bien province will be carried out in 2 phases: Phase 1 in the dry season from March 2023 to June 2023; Phase 2 in the rainy season from August 2023 to December 2023. The results of Phase I environmental monitoring are as follows:
The analysis results at 33 ambient air monitoring points in the central areas of districts, towns and cities show that the air quality in Dien Bien province is relatively stable, most of the monitoring indicators meet the permitted standards (according to QCVN 26:2016/BYT, QCVN 03:2019/BYT, QCVN 02:2019/BYT, TCVSLD 3733/2002/QD-BYT and QCVN 05:2013/BTNMT).
Regarding surface water environment: The analysis results of 24 surface water samples in Dien Bien province showed that the surface water environment quality is still relatively good. However, the surface water environment quality has declined compared to previous years, most of the analyzed indicators are below or slightly exceed the QCVN 08-MT: 2015/BTNMT - National technical regulation on surface water quality. Along with that, the analysis results at 17 groundwater monitoring points in the province show that the quality of groundwater is relatively good, most of the monitoring indicators are below the permitted standards (QCVN 09:2015/BTNMT - National technical regulation on groundwater quality).
Regarding soil environment: Analysis results at 7 soil environment monitoring points in the central areas of districts, towns and cities show that the soil environment quality is relatively good, most of the monitoring indicators are below the permitted standards (QCVN 03-MT:2015/BTNMT, agricultural soil column: National technical regulation on permissible limits of some heavy metals in soil; QCVN 15:2008/BTNMT: National technical regulation on pesticide residues in soil).
