Kha Son: A 4th-grade student died from drowning.

According to the authorities of Kha Son commune (Thai Nguyen province), a drowning incident recently occurred in the area, resulting in the death of a student at Vien Dam. The victim was Nghiem Xuan T., a 4th grade student from Tan Duc Primary School.

Leaders of Kha Son commune visited and offered condolences to the family of the student who drowned.

According to a school representative, students are given Friday afternoons off so the school can organize professional activities. On the afternoon of May 22nd, during this break, T. and four other students went to the water dam area to swim without adult supervision, leading to the tragic accident.

Immediately after receiving the information, the People's Committee of Kha Son commune coordinated with the commune police and the family to clarify the cause of the incident; at the same time, they directed specialized departments and the school to promptly support the victim's family. The commune organized a delegation to visit, encourage, and support the family with 5 million VND.

This heartbreaking incident once again highlights the risk of drowning among children during the summer. It also serves as a reminder to families, schools, and society as a whole to strengthen supervision and monitoring of children, preventing them from going to ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams unsupervised.
