Since October, hundreds of foreign tourists have been lining up daily at Du Gia Waterfall in Yen Minh district to jump into the waterfall and enjoy the beautiful weather after the storms.

Du Gia Waterfall is located in Tien village, Du Gia commune. The waterfall, approximately 6 meters high, cascades down into a deep, clear blue pool. Situated amidst a pristine village landscape, the waterfall's strong current attracts many foreign tourists who come to experience waterfall jumping.

Nguyen Thuat, a tour guide in Ha Giang who frequently leads international tourists to the Dong Van Karst Plateau, said that since the beginning of October, the number of international tourists visiting Du Gia has increased sharply. "I've personally guided around 200-300 groups," he said, adding that most groups on the Ha Giang - Dong Van route choose to stay overnight in Du Gia to enjoy the waterfall the next day.

Visitors typically climb the cliff face to the top of the waterfall and then jump into the deep pool below. The highest point is about 6 meters above the water's surface, while other jumping spots are lower, about 3.5 meters above the water.

Visiting Ha Giang for the first time in October, 32-year-old Rochelle said that compared to other waterfalls he had visited in Vietnam, Du Gia waterfall was pristine, had clear water, and had a suitable spot for jumping.

"Waterfall jumping is an exciting experience, perfect for adventurous travelers who enjoy exploring nature," said a male tourist from France.

Briona, a British tourist, who traveled over 80 km from Meo Vac to Du Gia with her friends on October 27th, said that "many people" jumped off the waterfall but she "felt scared" and therefore did not try the experience.

Mr. Thuat said that domestic tourists tend to seek out scenic spots to take photos and check in, while international tourists prefer to go deeper into villages and experience pristine locations.

According to locals, hundreds of visitors come to Du Gia every day to admire the scenery and bathe in the waterfall. Accommodation establishments here are receiving a higher number of guests compared to the period before Typhoon Yagi .

Nguyen Van Khuy, owner of Du Gia Panorama homestay, said he has welcomed over 300 guests in nearly a month. His family homestay can accommodate a maximum of 30 guests a day, so on busy days, he cannot accept family groups, who have to go to nearby homestays.

According to Dang Quoc Su, Director of the Ha Giang Tourism Promotion Center, tourism activities in Ha Giang have become bustling again since October. Du Gia Waterfall is also one of the attractions, mostly for foreigners. The return of tourists after the storms and floods has helped create more jobs and increase income for local people.

To reach the waterfall, visitors can travel by car or motorbike along the route from National Highway 4C - Provincial Road 181 - Provincial Road 176 and turn towards the waterfall upon reaching Du Gia commune. Visitors can park their vehicles at a stop about one kilometer from the waterfall and walk to the waterfall. The ideal time to visit the waterfall is around 3 PM - 4 PM.

Du Già commune is located at the foot of the Ba Tiên mountain range, with a portion of its area belonging to Du Già National Park. It boasts a landscape that is both majestic and picturesque, with many waterfalls and clear streams that flow year-round.

This is an unregulated tourist spot, and the authorities have posted warning signs in dangerous areas. The access road is difficult, the waterfall's basin is narrow, full of boulders, and deep, posing many potential accident risks. When visiting the waterfall, tourists should go with a local person or guide, prioritize safety, and avoid attempting adventurous activities without the necessary skills.
