(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of December 21, Kien An District People's Council held the 14th Session (regular session at the end of 2023) of the District People's Council, term V, 2021 - 2026. Attending the Session were comrades: Le Tri Vu, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; La Thanh Tan; Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City.

Comrade Pham Van Khanh, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Kien An District chaired the meeting.

Taking place in 1.5 days (from December 21 to December 22, 2023), the 14th session of the District People's Council, term V, 2021 - 2026, aims to assess the implementation of socio -economic development tasks in 2023; consider and decide on socio -economic development, national defense and security targets and tasks in 2024 and the district's theme in 2024 "Promoting urban beautification, attracting investment - Strengthening the implementation of social policies and digital transformation"; consider and discuss reports of the Standing Committee of the District People's Council, the District People's Council Committees; reports of the District People's Committee, the Police, the People's Procuracy, the People's Court, the Civil Judgment Enforcement Office, and the Notice of the District Vietnam Fatherland Front on government building work. Announcement of the Results of the 13th Session (Regular Session at the end of 2023) of the 16th City People's Council, term 2021 - 2026 and some other reports as prescribed.

Along with that, the District People's Council reviewed the submissions to decide on issues regarding: Estimates and allocation of the district budget estimate for 2024; Decision on investment policy for 04 public investment projects (Investment policy for the project to purchase additional supplies, toys, and operating equipment for Van Dau Kindergarten to ensure conditions for building a school that meets national standards level 1; Investment policy for the urban beautification project at Dau Son 2 residential group, Van Dau ward; Investment policy for the project to expand and upgrade traffic infrastructure at the Kien An 5-way intersection from Tran Tat Van street to Nguyen Luong Bang street, Kien An district; Investment policy for the project to renovate and upgrade alley 243, Hoang Quoc Viet street, Ngoc Son ward (from Hoang Quoc Viet street to Khuc Tri street). Adjustment (5th time) of the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025; Public investment plan for 2024; Organizing a regular meeting in 2024; On the establishment of the Supervisory Team for the first 6 months of 2024.

At this Session, the District People's Council also dismissed the District People's Committee member and elected additional District People's Committee members for the 2021-2026 term. Organized a vote of confidence for the person holding the position elected by the District People's Council; discussed; questioned and answered questions at the Session and some other contents according to the law.

Speaking at the opening of the session, comrade Pham Van Khanh, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council emphasized: The People's Council of Kien An District, Term V, held the 14th Session (regular session at the end of 2023) in accordance with the provisions of the Law, to evaluate the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development tasks in 2023, determine the tasks in 2024, vote on the confidence for the positions elected by the District People's Council and decide on many other important contents within its authority. The session is a very important supervisory activity, demonstrating the recognition and evaluation of the District People's Council delegates for the efforts, attempts and work results from the beginning of the term until now of those who have been voted on for confidence. At the same time, it helps those who have been voted on for confidence see their level of confidence to continue to strive, practice, improve the quality and effectiveness of their work in the coming time. Taking a vote of confidence for the person holding the position elected by the District People's Council is very important, requiring each delegate to uphold the spirit of responsibility, impartiality, objectivity and based on basic criteria: Leadership, direction and management capacity, linked to the results of completing assigned tasks and the political qualities, ideology, ethics and lifestyle of the individual cadre being voted on.

In order for the 14th session of the District People's Council to ensure quality and complete the proposed contents and programs. Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Kien An District People's Council Pham Van Khanh requested the District People's Council delegates to enhance their sense of responsibility, promote democracy and intelligence, actively discuss and question issues that voters and people are interested in, and at the same time, based on the reality of their locality and unit, actively participate in the content of the session so that the Resolution of the District People's Council presented at the Session is passed and put into practice.
