In her opening remarks, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thu Phuong emphasized: “The fourth Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025 brings three messages: “Reading culture – Connecting communities”, “Together with books, we enter the era of national progress”, and “Reading books – enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity”.

This year, we are delighted to see many publishers and book distributors actively participating, bringing new vitality to spreading reading culture and encouraging reading habits. The series of activities and events celebrating the fourth Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025, held today and in the coming days in Da Nang city, as well as districts and communes throughout the city, will practically contribute to promoting the beauty of traditional culture and encouraging and developing the reading movement in the community.”

This year's Da Nang Reading Culture Festival takes place from April 20th to 27th with the following main activities: an exhibition of information resources, documents, and photographs about Da Nang's 50 years of formation and development and the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Da Nang City Party Committee (March 28, 1930 – March 28, 2025); an exhibition of information resources commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025); a book exhibition "Central and Central Highlands Regions with the Great Victory of Spring 1975"; a calligraphy art exhibition; an exhibition of technological achievements in the library field; and the display and introduction of rare and valuable resources such as: Tieng Dan newspaper, Han Nom documents, ancient royal decrees, and a STEM Robotic and STEM Science experiential activity space…

In addition, the festival also includes activities to promote reading culture such as: organizing talks, seminars, and author-book introductions; networking with book collectors in Da Nang city; organizing competitions to promote and introduce books, storytelling based on books; artistic book stacking competitions; costume contests of characters from books and stories; organizing fun and engaging games related to books; launching a campaign to support books for school libraries and community learning centers; providing advice on library facilities and issuing free library cards; organizing poetry nights featuring Bui Giang and music by Trinh Cong Son; cultural and artistic exchanges and learning about reading culture…
