Opening of the final round of the 13th Agribank Cup "Golden Rice" Volleyball Tournament

On the morning of November 23, at the Hai Duong Provincial Sports Stadium, the Hai Duong Provincial Farmers' Association coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the opening round of the 13th Agribank Cup "Golden Rice" Volleyball Tournament in 2024.

The final round was attended by 12 teams from 12 districts, towns and cities in Hai Duong province, with the participation of 148 athletes who are officials, members, farmers, and those who are directly producing and serving agricultural production, small-scale industry, and agricultural services in communes, wards, and towns in the province.

According to the tournament organizers, the 13th Agribank Cup "Golden Rice" Volleyball Tournament in 2024 will be organized into 3 stages including:

Phase 1: Organizing competitions at the grassroots level is where communes, wards and towns organize competitions between teams of villages and residential areas to form teams of communes, wards and towns to participate at the district level. The implementation period is from April 15, 2024 to June 30, 2024.

Phase 2: Organizing district-level competitions, districts (towns, cities) organize competitions between teams of communes, wards, and towns to select teams to participate at the provincial level. The organization period is from July 1, 2024 to August 30, 2024.

Phase 3: Organize the provincial final round at Hai Duong Provincial Sports Gymnasium.

The final round of the 13th "Golden Rice" Volleyball Tournament in 2024 is divided into 4 groups, each group has 3 teams, competing in a round robin to select the 4 best teams in the group to enter the semi-finals. In the competition, each match takes place in 3 sets, the team that wins 2 sets will win.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Mr. Trinh Van Thien, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Hai Duong province, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament emphasized that in recent years, the Farmers' Association, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have always paid attention to, directed, coordinated to launch and promote the movement of physical education and sports in rural areas. In which, volleyball is one of the attractive and appealing collective sports, attracting a large number of farmers to participate in training and competing.

The final round of the "Golden Rice" Volleyball Tournament in Hai Duong province this year is a traditional tournament held regularly, a healthy entertainment playground, aiming to train and improve the health of members and farmers, while creating favorable conditions for farmers' volleyball teams in the whole province to exchange, learn, compete to improve their skills, contributing to promoting the widespread sports movement in rural areas.

The head of the tournament organizing committee also requested the referees to conduct the matches objectively, fairly, impartially, in compliance with the Laws and Regulations; accurately determine the achievements of the teams, creating the best conditions for the teams and athletes to compete and achieve high results. Requested the athletes to respect and comply with the Laws and Regulations prescribed by the tournament organizing committee. Compete with the sportsmanship spirit of "Unity - Honesty - Nobility", with the highest achievements.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the group matches of the 4 groups took place. In the morning, 2 matches took place: the match between Chi Linh team and Tu Ky team (Group A); then the match between Thanh Mien and Ninh Giang team (Group B).

Because of careful preparation, more even and better quality forces, Tu Ky and Thanh Mien teams both played "better" than Chi Linh and Ninh Giang teams. In every set, Tu Ky team forced Chi Linh team, or Thanh Mien team forced Ninh Giang team to chase with quite a large gap in points.

The result was that Tu Ky team won Chi Linh team with a score of 2-0; Thanh Mien team won Ninh Giang team also with a score of 2-0.

This afternoon and the following days, the group stage and semi-final matches will take place. On the morning of November 26, there will be two matches, the third place match and the final match to find the champion of the tournament.
