On May 9, at the second facility of the Hanoi Center for Communications, Data and Digital Technology (No. 17 Dien Bien Phu, Dien Bien Ward, Ba Dinh District), the Hanoi People's Committee held the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Capital Press Center.

This is an important event in the strategy of innovating policy communication work, improving the effectiveness of information coordination between the city government, the press and the public.

The Hanoi Capital Press Center is the focal point for providing, coordinating and processing press information of the City. The Center has the following functions: Receiving, synthesizing and providing official information from departments, branches, sectors and localities; supporting the press to access news sources quickly, fully and promptly; responding to and correcting false information; handling emergency media situations; applying modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, trend analysis and fake news warning in media management; organizing press conferences, seminars, forums, press seminars, press photo exhibitions... The Center aims to integrate modern technology solutions such as artificial intelligence (AI) in trend monitoring, information analysis in cyberspace, fake news warning system, big data analysis tools to assess the spread of media topics. This is the first step towards building an open, smart, user-friendly and press-friendly media ecosystem.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh suggested that the Capital Press Center must truly be an "open" center - where all voices are heard, all data is connected, and information is shared transparently - accurately - promptly.

Departments, branches, sectors and local authorities identify communication as part of the management tool, do not avoid communication but proactively cooperate, provide information, dialogue and handle with the highest sense of responsibility.

At the opening ceremony, the Hanoi People's Committee announced the Regulations on management, operation, exploitation and use of the Hanoi Capital Press Center, establishing a legal framework for organizing, coordinating and implementing activities at the Center.

The regulations clearly stipulate the responsibilities of the Office of the City People's Committee in operating the center; the coordination mechanism between the center and departments, branches and localities in providing, sharing and processing information; at the same time, establish a process for receiving feedback from the press and promptly handling it according to decentralization.

This is the basis to ensure that all information released to the public is accurate, responsible and in accordance with the law. An important highlight is the signing of a cooperation program between the Office of the Hanoi People's Committee and the Government Electronic Information Portal to establish a mechanism for data connection and communication and enhance two-way information exchange, supporting the press to access official news sources more quickly and conveniently.

The Hanoi Center for Communications, Data and Digital Technology and the capital's press agencies also signed a cooperation agreement to establish a press cooperation network, jointly exploit digital platforms, share information, and promptly respond to emerging social issues.

The coordination programs demonstrate the spirit of companionship and responsibility between state management agencies and the press, while creating a legal and technical foundation for effectively implementing policy communication content, refuting false information, and building a healthy media environment.

The operation of the Capital Press Center is the first step in the process of building a modern public media ecosystem in Hanoi, in which technology is the pillar, the press is the center, and the people are the objects of service. This is also an effort to concretize the policy of "taking people as the center" in urban governance, affirming the role of the press as a strategic partner of the government in consolidating social consensus, promoting transparency and sustainable development./.
