Modena is a beautiful city with many landmarks honored by the United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in the Emilia-Romagna region, Northern Italy.

Founded in 183 BC, Modena was originally a small colony of the Roman Empire, like many other cities in the region. The fall of the empire, followed by Lombard rule, left the city in decline for centuries. It was only around 1000 that Modena began to rise again.

The city's greatest period of glory was linked to the rule of the D'Este family, a family deeply tied to Modena's history from the late 16th century until the mid-19th century, when Modena was annexed as part of the Kingdom of Italy.

The ancient center - the "heart" of Modena city is three world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO since 1997, including Piazza Grande Square, Duomo di Modena Cathedral and Torre Civica-Ghirlandina bell tower.

Both in the Emilia-Romagna region, but if Bologna is known as the red city “La Rossa,” then Modena is even more brilliant and fresh with its striking alternating red-yellow-orange colors.

If you are a fan of music in general and opera in particular, you will surely be interested to know that Modena is the hometown of the “king of Italian opera” Luciano Pavarotti. He was born in Modena and also passed away here in 2007.

The ancient city is also known as the "motor capital" due to the surrounding sports car factories of Ferrari, DeTomaso, Lamborghini, Pagani and Maserati.

In terms of cuisine, Modena is one of Italy's most notable highlights, famous for its Aceto Balsamico di Modena black vinegar, a vinegar fermented from a mixture of cooked pressed grapes.

With a thick, syrupy texture and a rich yet delicate flavor with fruity and slightly sweet notes, this is an essential ingredient in Italian cuisine.

Aceto Balsamico di Modena can be combined with many different dishes, such as being drizzled over Parmigiano Reggiano cheese - another specialty of the Emilia-Romagna region, or used as a seasoning for meat dishes, salads, risotto...

Sharing with a reporter from Vietnam News Agency, tourist Rita Neri commented that Modena is a city of moderate size but possesses many green spaces and an ancient historical center, where cultural events, music, and museums often take place.

Modena is famous as the birthplace of the Ferrari and Maserati supercars, and is also the hometown of the famous singer Pavarotti, so it attracts many tourists to visit.

On the other hand, the people of Modena are also proud of their rich cuisine, including the indispensable specialty cheese and balsamic vinegar, which are always present in the city's best restaurants.

Here, visitors can also visit the location of Modena Cathedral with its bell tower recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site.

Coming to Modena, visitors are not only conquered by the beauty of ancient architecture and unique works of art, but also captivated by the wonderful culinary flavors.

The city experienced an unprecedented period of prosperity, thanks to the development of small industries, creating unique products that captivated fans all over the world.
