Con Son Botanical Garden is located next to the special national relic site of Con Son - Kiep Bac, covering an area of 30 hectares with about 450 species of native and imported plants.
With rich vegetation, Con Son Botanical Garden has up to 30 species of plants listed in the Red Book.
In 1997, Con Son Botanical Garden was still a bare hill... (documentary photo) ... has now become a lush, green forest. Con Son Forest Management Station ( Hai Duong Provincial Forest Management Board) directly manages the garden and 9 local households are contracted to protect and care for it. Since 1996, Mr. Nguyen Van Ngan (born in 1972) in Tien Son area, Cong Hoa ward (Chi Linh) has been responsible for planting, caring for and protecting 7 hectares in the central area of Con Son Botanical Garden. Periodically, he goes into the forest to cut down wild trees so that the plants can grow. The ironwood tree in the garden takes two people to hug around and is about 35 m high. Black star tree is recorded in the Red Book, originating from the Southern forest, about 25m high, with luxuriant branches and leaves, growing well in the forest land of Chi Linh. Camphor tree, a precious medicinal herb with special aromatic essential oil Staff of Con Son Forest Management Station manage the flora system in the garden through digital maps, records and Zalo groups.
